Great place for breakfast the spicy eggs were so flavorful. I got in when the place was empty the Staff, pricing and food were great. While I was there I was able to get some work done and by the time I left the place was pretty full.
Only U is a great spot for breakfast! The service was on point! the chai latte was the best I have had in this city! The special classic breakfast was simple yet exceeded all my expectations
Five years living at UBC and I have been sleeping on this place. Finally stopped in to try their Indian food for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the Kadhi Onion Pakora Chawal and it was so good. Nothing too fancy, but just excellent Indian comfort food. I’m not in a place to say whether Indian food is “authentic” or not, but this was not the relatively bland take on Indian food that you might expect from this unassuming brunch place, it was pleasantly rich. And the paratha was so soft and flaky! The portion was also very filling, so good value for your money. I like that the Indian section of the menu has so many vegetarian breakfast dishes that most Indian lunch/dinner restaurants don’t serve. I’m kind of curious about the Western brunch menu too, but will definitely be back to try more of the Indian food if nothing else. I had a Piña Colada smoothie too. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really do anything for me. They called this a “fruit smoothie” but it was so sweet and tasted closer to a flavoured slush to me. I'd skip the smoothie next time since the main meal was enough. The atmosphere is totally bare-bones, it’s not sketchy or anything, there’s just absolutely no ambiance to speak of. The staff was nice enough though, especially the person taking orders at the front. It’s not a hip brunch place at all, but a great place for some no-fuss good eats. Although I can’t speak for the Western brunch stuff, I can definitely recommend you check them out for the Indian dishes if you live around UBC.
The first brunch place I visit UBC campus. Only U Cafe offers all the dishes associated with a classic and regular brunch, such as omelette, egg Benedict, harsh brown, and etc. The meals are decent with reasonable price given its location. It’s definitely a pleasant experience to dine outside under the shade and watch egg yolk leaking out and “harmonizing” with the harsh brown. I wouldn’t considered Only U Cafe as a top-one brunch place in Vancouver, but it’s certainly friendly and approachable. 4 stars to the food and 1 star to the cute and deft server that incredibly served almost all the tables on his own : don’t know his name unfortunately :
My absolute favourite place to eat at UBC. I started eating here when I lived on campus since it was so close. Over time, I realized the owners had a secret Indian menu and it was so good, it reminded me of home. Even though I don't live at UBC anymore, I still come here on occasion to satisfy a craving. The staff is kind and friendly and always helps me pick the best dish . And it helps that the pricing is student friendly! Highly recommend all the vegetarian options on their menu!
The staff was fantastic, food was amazing and they have a better matcha latte then Starbucks! I had eggs Bennie with bacon and avocado. I prefer hard poached, and got exactly what I asked for. Parking: Street parking or underground parking.
just what I felt like today! great selection of food. fast service. simple, tasty brunch at a good price
Ratings Scale 0 - 10 Variety: 8 Service or Product: 7 Customer Service: 6 Environment: 6 Cleaning: 6 Washroom: 6 Cost: 4 While the food itself was decent, 2 factors made me give this page a 2 star rating: Price: its too expensive! For a simple 2 person breakfast with tea, it cost us $42!! Service: The service from the waitress and counter person were fine but another rude guy ruined the experience. I simply wanted to know ingredients of the cheese they use for my dietary restrictions. Instead of listening to me properly and guiding me he said he doesn't know. I asked if I could see the packaging and he said he threw the packaging out and then proceeded to leave without listening further. Pathetic. Will never visit again even though the food was decent.
Great casual and cozy breakfast / brunch place to catch up with friends. Prices are reasonable for food on campus and their drip coffee does the job. They make a great Reuben sandwich.Food: 5/5
Had paranthas and chollay nice with tea fellow diners had Louisiana chicken was good Chick presto sandwich average Onion rings good Makes Owner was nice enough to leave it open past three for us Paul told me to go down there my cousin so I went down there and supported this guy. Pricing could be a little bit lower about 13 to $15 a plate. I think under 10 would be better
