I came to the center to shop but got hungry. I decided to stop into this stall because they had the popcorn chicken I was craving. They have a ton of different options and many various meals you can get. The person at the stall was very friendly and helpful! Service was quick and I waited maybe 5 minutes for my meal. I got the popcorn chicken over rice, which comes with a bowl of ice and bok choy, a drink, and a decent size portion of the chicken for about $12. The chicken was made very well, juicy, and tender! The only thing was, the chicken was not season on the outside. I was expecting a bit of salt or pepper, but it didnt taste like much of the outside was seasoned. The rice was drizzled with some sort of sauce probably from another braised dish, it was delicious! I thought it was a wonderful meal, quick, and made very well. I would definitely come back.
Probably worst lurou fan Taiwanese minced pork rice I’ve had in Richmond.. Rice was too soggy, the stewed minced pork was gritty and tasted very flat. Marinated egg was way over cooked and even the side dishes tasted off. Lemon green tea is prepackaged hence no modifications can be made and just tasted bland. At $10 for a meal with a drink is a good deal if you are only looking for something to fill you up. Cash only. Not coming back.
The worst fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Fried chicken leg was super dry and bland. Just like chicken jerky. Not coming back.
Nice - Spicy Fried Chicken with Rice. Thank Goodness it comes with a drink. Made the mistake of taking on those chillies - unless you’re ok with super spicy avoid haha. Chicken a little dry.
Good value for the money. For ~$12, you get a filling meal + drink pop, soy milk, or honey green tea. Beef noodle soup had a herbal flavour, but the broth was a bit thin, as it lacked that beefy bunch. Beef brisket was tender.
Not up to expectations and food barely seasoned. When I order deep fried squid I don't expect half of it to be diced Chilis. The noodle bowl literally had no taste. Picture attached is the container with the squid finished. Half of the container were fillers.
Probably the smallest portion I have seen for this dish that cost me $9. Should have read the review before I purchase. Taste is just so so. Definitely not worth $9.Food: 1/5
I am not one to write bad reviews but ordered a bowl of beef noodles. Looked and tasted undercooked. Noodles were bundled together. Approached owner and he told me no one else is complaining and he sells this all day long.Told me that he can heat it up for me if I want. Honestly did not expect that kind of answer. I am no spring chicken when comes to cooking and can tell when noodles are not cooked properly.
Had the #1 noodle soup. Was NOT #1. Noodles were under done and beef was very low quality. Especially for the inflation driven prices, the value is super low. Drinks were ok, but typical quite sweet. Par for the course tho. If you're desperate for Taiwanese food and can't wait to go anywhere else... still don't go here. You'll leave disappointed and unsatisfied and still need to go find good Taiwanese.
No 14 on the menu was Spicy Squid. Packed with chilli peppers and tossed together with marinated deep fried squid. The mixture was just perfect. Looked crazy spicy but was actually a Med hotness level. Enjoyed as it came with a drink and bowl of rice with side of veggies and pork sauce drizzled over the rice. Will come back to try another dish when in the Food Court again.
