Old Southern BBQ - Hudson

This is an old school BBQ joint that is definitely worth the stop. We tried several different items from the menu and ALL were outstanding. Great ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage. You GOTTA try the brisket chili. Incredible flavor and just enough spice to make it interesting. Also, after dinner that comes with a muffin top, yes, JUST THE TOP, the best part of a corn bread muffin, we had to take a dozen more home with us. The best thing about this place is, there isn't one in the town we're from. We would eat there WAY too often and wouldn't have a good excuse to make a trip to Hudson on a regular basis.

I have eaten here twice and ordered the Memphis bowl both times. The first time the food came out hot and was very good; however, the second time I ordered the bowl my food came out cold. It was around 8:00 PM, and I went here with my family for a late dinner. My wife and I ordered the Memphis bowl. Our bowls came out with the rest of the food for our kids. While my wife and kids ate their food, I waited for my food to be reheated. The second time my bowl came out it was still cold. The waiter didn't believe me so he stuck his finger in my food at the table and then took it away with disgust. Before I received my meal for the third time, my family was done eating. It was then that my wife then realized her bowl was supposed to have meat, but with it already gone how could you say something to the waiter. Even after the third attempt my food was not hot. I ate it anyway in an effort to get out of the restaurant. No compensation was received for the cold food, the delay to get my food, or for making the entire family wait on me to get my food and eat it. As much as i enjoyed the food the first time around, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

It's so quick and easy to walk in at lunch or dinner and sit down to eat a delicious meal. I get to use the Lions share of my hour lunch break if I eat here during the work day. Not so with any of the fast food joints ironically. I timed it-ten minutes from work to Hudson, then I am usually in line for another 10 or fifteen minutes. If I eat at Old Southern by the time fifteen minutes are up I have fork to mouth. The food is delicious and I appreciate that they have sweet tea, not just regular, already made up.

The staff were super friendly and the food was great we'll be going there on a regular basis. And I was lucky enough to get a tour of there smoker, I have and use a home smoker, so it was a big thrill for me

Great food. Unique takes in classic southern BBQ favorites. Fair pricing. Will be going back!
