Very interesting stop, huge variety of books, magazines, records, etc. The owner is a very nice lady and everything is reasonably priced. Definitely visit if you're in the area! The building has been bought out however, and the bookstore will apparently be closing sometime this year unfortunately.
Better off buying on amazon, expect zero customer service from this place. I drove all the way out there after work today and got there just after 4PM, their hours are advertised as 11AM-5PM. The owner lady is there and just says "we're closed." She then proceeds to complain about her day to me. Finally she asks me if I had to drive far to get there, which I obviously did because it's in the middle of no where. I knew exactly what I wanted but at no point was the owner kind enough to open up shop for like 5 minutes. What a waste of my time and gas.
This is the most frustrating bookshop in the world. They are never open according to the posted hours. Today the voicemail said they would be reopening Aug 3, 2021...I arrived there to find the store empty and piles of uninspiring books on the porch. Don't bother - its closed.
If you still like books, this may be a place for you. It is in an old building with its original tin roof. Beauty! I like to think of this place as a mom and pop operation. I have purchased several books over the years and some odds and end. The proprietor can direct you to where the books you seek are. Plenty of books to choose from.
A historic little store, still operating as a small family run Book Shop. A great place to find a treasure, and spend an afternoon. Hiking the Seaton trail, this is the ideal place to finish or start your hike.
Nicest surprise on a hiking day to discover this fantastic place. Sadly it's closed due to pandemic, but I will definitely be driving to this place all the time!
This bookstore is amazing. If you're in the GTA, check here first before succumbing to shipping costs via abebooks, Amazon etc. For ages I've been searching for same rarities - I found 'em all at Old Favorites.. Remember, there's an extra supply via their "warehouse" Happiest used book store experience in all the GTA... a treasure trove.
I'd have enjoyed it but it was closed despite my visit during business hours. I wish I'd read some of the older reviews which cautioned to phone ahead to confirm that it's open.
i got books from the outside which were free/pay as you wish! this was a great local business to check out with very old books!
You can't find a book store like this anymore! They have more than just books. Family run business give them a call!
