Had an amazing lunch at oh Bombay. We ordered vegetable sizzler, veggie garlic Momos and desserts. Food quality, taste, ambience, customer service everything was good. Will definitely come again.
We had an amazing food specifically the appetizers.Tried Tandoori chicken momos, Manchurian Lollipops, hot and sour chicken soup. I am really impressed with timeliness, they provide us food on time. Also food quantity and quality was up to the standards. Food was really fresh, well cooked, taste delicious.Thank you for providing us best hospitality and food. Definitely a place to go, might seem a bit expensive to few but when it comes to food what is expensive if its tasty I would be returning customer for sure and highly recommended!!!
When The Chulha shutdown, I was devastated! Where else will I be able to find Bombay style indian food now that's made from scratch with authentic flavours? A couple of weeks ago, I saw a post on DRE gotta love this group about a new Indian restaurant Oh Bombay - Whitby and got super excited thinking, could it really be true? I decided to check them out last week let's just say, they'd give places like Avani in Mississauga, a run for their money! I loved it so much, I decided to try it again... just to be sure it wasn't a fluke and I'm extremely happy to report that both visits were amazing, and the food exceeded my expectations! Here's what I've tried so far: Chicken lollipop - juicy chicken drumsticks in a sweet and tangy sauce, with a crunchy batter... I could NOT stop eating it! My only regret? Wish there were more drumsticks so I could keep on enjoying this deliciousness Mutton rogan josh - pleasantly surprised that this dish was not overpowered by tomatoes. Lamb was juicy and tender, and no gamey lamb smell whatsoever. Chicken biryani - This is one of the BEST Bombay style biryanis I've had in my life. Fragrant basmati rice, tender chicken, the combination of mint, fried onions, masala, cashews, raisins, really truly elevates this dish as each bite balances the spice with the sweetness and crunch. It came with a delicious cucumber raita that I loved so much, I took it to go! Bhuna gosht - another lamb dish which was prepared excellently and no overpowering taste of tomatoes. The meat was definitely slow cooked, juicy, with a thick masala that you could eat on its own, or enjoy with some delicious naan or roomali roti. Yes, they're one of the few restaurants that offer roomali roti! P.S.: They can adjust spice levels of their dishes to accommodate your palette. I specifically asked as I wanted something mild my kids could enjoy and although I haven't taken the kids there yet, I plan to very soon and check those options but for all the dishes we ordered, we were very specific that we do not want food that makes our tummy burn and head scratch lol! We want to be able to enjoy the dishes and our server ensured it was to our taste. To top it all, our server, Harshali, was the sweetest, most knowledgeable girl with a friendly smile and she's the one who made our experience amazing! All in all, after 2 visits, I'm compelled to write this review, albeit a little late, but fully deserved because Durham has a new gem, and in Whitby. FYI, all their meat is halal. I verified this with staff on 2 different occasions. I truly hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did. Look forward to hearing what else you guys tried and recommend. Dietary restrictions: Halal
If you're looking for exceptional Indian cuisine and a pleasant atmosphere, Oh Bombay is definitely worth checking out. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was welcoming and inviting. The staff, especially Ajay the manager, were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. But of course, the food is the main event and it did not disappoint. From the Paneer, fried fish, Lamb to the Tandoori Chicken momos, every dish tasted amazing and had us craving more. The rice and roti were also highlights of the meal and reminded us of the authentic taste of India. It's clear that the chefs at Oh Bombay have a deep understanding of Indian flavors and spices, and are able to create dishes that are both traditional and innovative. All in all, our dining experience at Oh Bombay was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect. I would definitely recommend Oh Bombay to anyone looking for a great Indian meal in a welcoming atmosphere.
This was our 2nd time here and it was as great as the 1st time. Definitely try the Momos here, we have tried tandoori veg and chilli chinese - both are fantastic. Tried Bhuna lamb, Rogan josh, murg mint, chicken jalfarezi, paneer lababdaar, veg biryani. Everything was extremely tasty, authentic and not too oily. Pinky and Navjeet were excellent in hospitality.
We tried this new Indian Restaurant located just north of brock st n Rossland ave. The place had some good vibes, liked the ambiance and the deemed lights to enjoy a nice dinner with family and friends. Food tasted authentically Indian, love to go there again. Staff were very inviting and did not have to wait to long for our food to arrive. Oh, they have a facebook/Instagram “Likes” counter, which updates in real time.
I loved da ambience of the restaurant it’s very neat and clean. We had ordered chicken kabab , aloo tiki and vegetable Hakka noodles . The food is very tasty and yummy . I enjoyed the fusion taste of the food. The staff at Oh Bombay are amazing and friendly . Will definitely visit Oh Bombay again. Vegetarian options: They have plenty of vegetarian options with choice of protein. Kid-friendliness: I really liked the unique design of their high chair.
The service was attentive and the food was flavourful. Spicy cauli was nice as are the spicy garlic momos, vindaloo was proper heat though I’d prefer dark meat, eggplant bharta smoky delicious - garlic naan a must! Definitely will dine there again.
We went for dinner, it wasn’t busy at the time. We ordered chicken kebab appetizer which came hot and tasted amazing, for our main we both ordered Chana Bhatura and it came hot and tasted amazing as well. Staff was very friendly and informative. They also have two different draft beers to enjoy with your meal. We will be back again.
This is a new location of Oh Bombay opened in Whitby. I have had Oh Bombay's food in Oakville and it was decent. We went to the Whitby location on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't busy around 7 PM. For appetizers, we ordered Manchurian Style Momos - Vegetarian. It was the best of both worlds. The spice level was perfect and it was delicious. I only wish there was some dip on the side. For the main course, as I am vegetarian, I ordered Soya Tikka Masala. Overall it was good. I wouldn't say it was extraordinary. The description mentioned "tandoor cooked smoky soya" but I couldn't taste the smoky flavor. For the bread, I ordered Roomali Roti. It was quite big and soft in the beginning. But as time passed, it became stretchy and hard. My husband ordered Kadhai Chicken. He said that it tasted good, but not the best dish. He also added that he has had much better tasting Kadhai Chicken elsewhere. He paired his mains with Butter Naan which was thin, properly cooked, and tasted good.
