I'm very pleased with my takeout meal of fish and chips from this establishment! The batter was crispy and fish perfectly cooked. The tartar sauce was lemony and delicious. A must-have when I return to Oak Bay next time!
I don’t like fish and chips. However the girlfriend was hungry and at this point angry and this place seem to fit her requirements: it was open. We went in, she had the fish and chips I had a salmon burger. I was pleasantly surprised by my burger and also her fish. Unlike typical fish and chips it wasn’t greasy and tasted very good. We added a side of popcorn shrimp just for fun and they were better than anything I’ve had at fisherman‘s wharf. Not greasy at all. Super good. Service was great too. It also had nice place to sit indoors and out. What else do you need to diffuse a hangry girlfriend. I gave it 5 stars because she was super satisfied and wants to come here again. Ok.
Fresh seafood, big crabs, good candied and smoked salmon. Friendly staff. Parking is a bit small.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I was surprised it was not busy. Fish and chips were superb, as were the salmon burger and fish stew. We've got to go back to try the chowder next time. The store was clean and organized, with a range of frozen seafood and other meal items.
*stands on the rooftop to shout* ALL THEIR MENU ITEMS ARE GLUTEN FREE ANNNND DELICIOUS! My partner is on a cleanse that makes him sugar, dairy and gluten free... coming across this treasure was a very happy and delicious accident. I am not gluten free and I would have never known. So so sooo good! The tarter sauce was delicious too. We also bought oysters and fish to bring home. Give this place all your business!
This is a great place, when it is open. At 12:20 on a Sunday afternoon it is dark and closed. Perhaps they took the Labour Day weekend completely off? Perhaps someone forgot to open it up? Perhaps? Perhaps? Perhaps? … And why does the Neon/LED sign saying OPEN stay on all night long?
The staff are really curteous and informational and the food is great. The fried fish was delightfully crispy and the chips were well seasoned. In hindsight this has been one of the best fish and chips meals I've ever had and if you're in the Oak Bay area this is a must for seafood!
These guys are amazing!! They didn't have my favorite oysters but hooked us up with BETTER! Highly recommended the fish and chips there! The guys who work there are super friendly and professional. They know their stuff.
