I came here for lunch with a coworker. We both ordered the veal sandwich from the hot food section. The prices are higher than typical Italian bakeries. The veal sandwich was good but it wasn't anything special. Also each additional topping costs extra on an already expensive sandwich. The place was not busy at all but the woman serving us didn't seem too eager to serve us either. Afterwards we ordered cappuccinos which were decent but also nothing special. Overall, this place has a higher price tag than it's competitors but doesn't offer anything extra. It's not bad but not great.
All I can say is that this place is awesome. The food is so good. Try their breakfast it’s soooo good, the price is right. I couldn’t believe what you get for your buck here. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone if you’re in this area. The service is great, everyone is so nice. The staff is absolutely unreal.
The pastries here are great. The Zepolis and Portuguese tarts are fantastic when they are fresh. I get the gelato even in the winter. The hot food counter is not what it used to be. The pizza is tasting more like cardboard. The manager always seems to be in a bad mood and never smiles and greats the customers. Even when I say hi to him he sometimes ignores me.
I've been to Nino d'aversa many times at there Thornhill and Maple locations and always been very happy with there food and pastries. However the Aurora location is absolutely terrible, and would not recommend it to anyone. I just picked up a pizza and some pastries. The pizza was burnt and did not have any of the Ninos taste at all, and the pastries are stale, soggy and taste like day old. Longos pizza and their pastries are day and night better, from a grocery store. Just garbage for $40.
They have a wide variety of pastries at a relatively low price, but the quality of the food was just okay. One of the employees was kind enough to provide me some recommendations though and was knowledgable about the products.
I visited this location to order a cake and the service I received while placing the order was ok. I was in and out quick and although one of the workers made me feel a bit uncomfortable, I didn't have much to complain about. Unfortunately, I live in Toronto and I sent the recipient of the cake to pick it up on her birthday. The cake box was taped shut and although she asked to see it, she was told they couldn't open the box for her. She walked out and opened the box as soon as she left only to find part of the cake ruined the cake wasn't centered on the cardboard. It's disappointing to have spent $60 on a cake only to have it be ruined before it's even picked up.
Nino's makes one of the best authentic Italian pizzas you can find in this area!!! Affordable and delicious
This dried up brick piece of shortcake that my fork could barely get through is probably a week old and was sold to me as Tiramisu. How can you call yourself an Italian bakery when the grocery store Tiramisu is more authentic than yours? please note that there’s no lady fingers or mascarpone cheese, as you can see in the picture
Great pizza. Terrible service. I ordered 2 party size pizzas for pickup at 11am and told them I wanted to pickup at 3:45pm. I showed up at 3:50pm and they forgot to make the pizza. Waited around for them to prepare and cook it. No offer of coffee, extras, a break on price, or even a sincere apology. Was late for my own kids birthday because of their piss poor service and attention to detail. I probably wouldn't have left this average scored review if they had at least offered some kind of compensation or at least gave a genuine apology. Saving grace for not getting a 1 star was the fact that the pizza was great . Too bad there are 2 sides to the restaurant game. Good food AND good service.
I'm not the type of person to write reviews but the experience with this place really pushed me over the edge. Beware of catering orders... staff are not trained properly on how to take orders over the phone, misquoted items and took wrong date. Confirmed one price over the phone and charged me another to my credit card. $20 dollar difference...not a big deal but it's the principle of manning up to your staff's mistakes, properly training them and not treating your customers rudely. I didn't appreciate being shouted at for a mistake that I was trying to correct. I will think twice about returning to this place. Lot's of other great Italian bakeries out there. They are a dime a dozen
