New System BBQ

Unclean, poutine with shredded cheese instead of cheese curd. The most unclean restaurant I have seen in Quebec. Flies flying around the restaurant. The first time I give one star. I am never sick with food, I was sick 15 minutes after I ate. It was good three years ago. My boyfriend was sick too. This restaurant is unsanitary.

Sad. Dining room shouldn’t even be open. Dirty, dark, and uninviting. Great family memories of New System going back 50 years; stopped in a day ago for lunch, and was shocked. Chicken was decent, but hamburger steak is an embarrassment. Frozen food service beef patty, greasy gravy, and undercooked fries — spent the evening in the bathroom. You can’t blame Covid & staffing forever; no excuse for what we experienced. Takeout containers for eat-in, storage in the dining room, wall menu that hasn’t been washed in months…shameful. Way to desecrate a landmark.

So I was looking at the recent reviews of this establishment and what jumped out is the overwhelming sense of entitlement some people display, only to complain about everything!! It's not funny, my cheese was wrong, the pizza wasn't perfect and on and on.... this restaurant has been serving Montreal since 1948 and that says alot. I have been a customer for years and I have never been disappointed or dissatisfied. The food is great just ordered the 3 piece honey chicken for myself and the half chicken for my roommate and we both were impressed and thought it was awesome!! Great portions best French fries and fast delivery! Maybe those who have nothing better to do but complain should stick to things they know like McDonald's or kraft dinner, and loose the attitude. New system is hands down the best in town!! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars Sincerely appreciate this place!

Was vibing on a drunk night out. Went here and bought food and had to wait for 20 minutes in an empty restaurant. While waiting, the owner accused me of trying to rob him for taking this picture. Food was sub par and experience was tarnished by the owner saying he was going to call the cops. Better off going to AA down the street!

Words can hardly describe how bad the chicken was I received from this place. It was the DRYEST chicken I ever had in my life . It was so dry I couldn't swallow it and almost choked to death trying to wash it down with water. I don't understand the honey but it doesn't help with the dehydrated chicken . I even used the entire gravy to try and soften the chicken, all 9 packs of honey and even dipped the meat in water and it was still dry AF the flavor is ok but I personally prefer some moisture left in my chicken, even the bread was stale and hard as a rock by the time I got it. I Gave this place 2 chances too and it's the second time I ordered I received the dehydrated chicken. So unfortunate . I hope I'm the only one whose had such a horrible experience with their food.

We've been ordering from the New System for 30years and this has been the worst order of fish & chips ever. The fish & chips were cold we had to reheat the meal, the fish was rubbery and tasteless, the French fries old and cold. Just let you know that it'll take a long time before we reorder again from this restaurant. Terrible experience

Went to dine inside and ordered a breast instead they gave me a leg of chicken and asked for the fries to be turned into a poutine.. they put everything In an aluminum container together. As soon as I peeled it opened the smell felt unusual,I took the first bite and got a clump of sauce that almost ruined the whole thing for me immediately. I managed to put away most of the poutine but the fries on the bottom became soggy with watery poutine from the sauce and the chicken steam i guess. I then started on the chicken...let's just say that if my fiancee made chicken like that ...we'd break up Felt like a hospital/lab made it. Coleslaw...sour and tasted like it was mixed with saline water. My fiancee ordered onion rings with chicken breast and couldn't even finish it, she said her chicken tasted like rotisserie left overs and the sauce had a weird hint of Cumin. We gave the place a chance . But its a dump in there, very disgusting, worst 80 Dollars we have ever spent.

The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I can not handle bright neon white lights. Very friendly nice kind people that brings you back to the real dinner experience. My soulvalki pork pita was garnished to perfection! And the poutine with chicken leg was perfectly made. Fries were crunchy but with that real potatoes softness in the inside.

Love this warm welcome restaurant. It has been around here for years - before I was even born. Decided to have a scrumptious breakfast. For those of you who are on a budget and want to be full - come to the New Systems Restaurant. Was it mentioned that they have yummy lunch items? Such as smoked hotdogs, pizza, and - [my personal favourite] the French fries

I LOVE THIS DINER! ONE OF THE BEST PLACES I'VE BEEN TO IN MONTRÉAL! THE OWNER RICHARD AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS EMPLOYEES ARE AMAZING! TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS IS A *MUST-VISIT* !
