Camping Review First time camping at a “full hookup” type of place. It was pricey but the services were great. The convenience of having full electric and water is nice. Pool was well kept, store had a lot of items we needed and workers were very friendly. Cellular service was excellent with a tower right next to the resort. It is right next to the highway so getting in and out was a little challenging but not a big deal.
I spent the night here with my kids. We really enjoyed the pool and they also liked the mini golf. We stayed in a little cabin and everything was really nice. The place seems well run. My only suggestion is it would be nice if you added blackout or darker curtains as it was really bright with the security light on outside.
Super friendly staff. Very clean restrooms, pool and hot tub. Loved being close to everything on our “to do” list for the week but still felt like we were at a real campground and not a big parking lot. Would highly recommend this campground.
The family and I stayed here to be close to the stratobowl for the annual hot air balloon festival. The cabin was small but very cozy and recently remodeled. The staff were friendly and overall the experience was very nice and would definitely stay again. My only complaint was the mattress was pretty rough.
This is an excellent campground, bathhouse was always clean, pool hours were extended, playground and mini golf were nice to have, staff was friendly. We were about 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore, 1 hour from windcave and jewel cave, 2 hours from devils tower, the city was nice with breweries and restaurants. All in all had a fantastic time here.
Like the stars show its ok. Cabins are pretty small and you'll be in close quarters with your companions. They do offer some outdoor games like horseshoes, as well as a basketball court, and a nice clean pool.
The place was beautiful. Half of the campsites are on a hillside. I called ahead and asked if we could be moved closer to the bathrooms due to my foot injury. They said they did not have anything on the phone but when we got there they did have a couple open sites. So my foot was put through the paces. The location is good for getting to all things tourist. The pool chemicals were off and the pool is far from accessible. Overall we were annoyed that the gravel roads were so dusty, therefore our whole experience was dusty. Mostly people in giant RVs stay there. We had a pop up.
We were here for a 3 night stay with our camper. They have a lot of things to do for the kids: basketball, mini golf and the pool. Very clean campground, friendly staff and long enough spots to park a large camper and truck. I would have given 5 stars but the sites were narrow with not a lot of room out and around the camper. Would definitely stay here again!
Amazing sites with plenty of trees and space. The staff is very friendly and the biggest plus THE STAFF ACTUALLY LEAVES YOU ALONE! They didn't make me wait for a staff member to show me how to park mybowm RV and weren't at my site looking for rule violations or anything else. This really made my vacation a peaceful one.
American Buffalo Resort is a must stay in Rapid City! Gorgeous, wooded, spacious campsites. Comparable rates if not better, than other campgrounds in the area. Clean everything! Restrooms, pool, hot tub, playground, mini golf, basketball court and campsites. Our family of 6 plus a dog had plenty of space and things to do!
