Hands down the best spot for Korean fried chicken! The first time I ordered from here, they forgot to give me my honey butter fries so I called them to let them know and they were so lovely to talk to. They took my name and number down and I was able to get it my next order. Staff are so friendly! We love the honey butter fried chicken as well as the garlic soy sauce chicken half and half - perfect amount for 2-4 people. Perfect crunch, seasoning is perfect and the honey butter seasoning reminds me of travelling around Asia! Their honey butter fries are also reallllllllly good! Even though it is a bit pricey, it is delicious and I think definitely worth it!
A wonderful place and in our experience, the best Korean fry chicken restaurant in GTA. Chicken so crispy and yet surprising juicy. Wide selection of fry chicken dishes in terms of flavor, sauce, cooking style and portion half-and-half gives great flexibility. Price is definitely value for money although not the cheapest. Service is always attentive and friendly!
Mozzarella spicy rice cake ‍ordered take out. For $20+, The portion and presentation are really disappointing. taste is not impressive but decent. Love the rice cake though, staying chewy even after hours and microwave. Very clean aftertaste, you can tell they use good ingredient. Better go in group & share
Solid experience. Decor and ambience was great, ample seating and clean facility. Service was polite and considerate. A bit on the pricier side. Rice cakes were fantastic and the garlic and soy sauce fried chicken was delicious. A few dry pieces but forgivable since it I presume we ordered bone in and it seemed fresh. Portions are very generous. They give popcorn before the food arrives too!
Way too over-hyped. First time trying their food today and went out of my way to get some. I couldn’t chew through some of the pieces of chicken and paid $40 for just chicken and fries. If you want great chicken, go to “The Fry” instead. These are just some of the pieces that were rock-hard and I literally could not chew through because it hurt my teeth. I was so excited to try them out but left so disappointed.
Great Little Korean Fried Chicken Place!!! After getting some recommendations from other Foodies in the GTA, I headed down to Mr. Chimaeks for some good 'ole Korean Style Fried Chicken. Nestled in a small plaza just off Kennedy Road. Please note parking is scarce at this location, so carpool or Uber if you can or you may be waiting a while to park. As we entered we noticed a really modern and well laid out, stylish space, not a big restaurant but enough seats to accommodate 20 guests. We were greeted and sat right away by our friendly server. The menu is not very big, just two pages, with a few french fry options, a few other options and about 8 types of fried chicken. Since we were there with kids we decided on a basket of fries, original boneless chicken and a serving of garlic and soy fried chicken. Our food came out fairly quickly as we got there just before the dinner rush and the place was already packed. Our fries were hot fresh and crispy, our chicken was moist, juicy and tender. The chicken was not greasy at all. Did I mention free popcorn? Yes, we had a chance to nibble on a few bowls before the food came out. Korean Fried Chicken is really picking up in the GTA and its good to know that we have a really great establishment here in Markham. I highly recommend this place if you have or haven't tried Korean Fried Chicken
Impressive food!!!! Feels like you're eating Korean food with a twist of street food. There's creativity in how the flavours put together. Some flavours are ones I've never tasted before, like the honey butter chicken!!! The decor is cool superhero and industrial. Modern place. Clean. And cool bathroom! Great service. The only downside was how expensive the chicken was $33 for a basket.
Nice quiet spot. The restaurant was very clean and packed with customers. The fried chicken was crispy and the portion sizes are massive more than enough for two people. There was only one server working so the service was quite slow but you can tell he was doing his best. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for a restaurant that specializes in Korean fried chicken and beer, then look no further than Mr. ChiMaek on Kennedy Road in Markham, ON. This cozy spot has a great atmosphere and delicious food that will leave you wanting more. The Korean fried chicken is out of this world. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors. Whether you're in the mood for classic fried chicken or something a bit more adventurous, like the garlic soy or spicy BBQ, Mr. ChiMaek has got you covered. But it's not just the chicken that's amazing at Mr. ChiMaek. The menu also features a range of Korean dishes, from classic bibimbap and kimchi fried rice to noodle dishes like japchae and spicy seafood udon. I got the gamjatang which was delicious, but after a bites the owner noticed that it had a burnt smell a little bit. Because of this, the owner came over to check if everything was fine, and wanted to exchange our food. I insisted it was good, but she came back with dumplings. AMAZING SERVICE! Will be back for more, thank you!
Parking here isn't the greatest here. It's pretty small and cramped but the one redeeming factor is that its right next to a light so you can rely on the light to turn left to get back out onto Kennedy. Chicken is great as is most Korean fried chicken but it wasn't anything over the top. The kimchi bacon fried rice with cheese however was delicious. It could have been a little bit spicier with the amount of cheese they added as well. Pricing is reasonable and they give you some popcorn to start off your meal with.
