Excellent Food! The service was quite slow!! I tried the "Mix Vegetable" and "Mix Veg Platter," both of which were tasty and spicy. I'd recommend it, but I'd also suggest that the restaurant improve their customer service.
The food and vibe of Moti Mahal are very unique. We had the pakoras as a starter. The main course of chicken tikka masala, seekh kebab, palak, lamb masala, biryani and naan. The portions are smaller but filling and are meant for sharing. A must try dining experience.Food: 5/5
Justifies the name. Taste is authentic. We ordered shahi paneer and chicken masala, both were delicious. Staff are very nice and soft spoken.
I've been going here since I was a little girl, and the quality has always been top notch. The food is authentic and extremely flavorful, the staff are wonderful and attentive and the owners are very personable and make you feel like family. I've celebrated many occasions with them, and will continue to do so. Thank you for making our occasions so wonderfully special.
Do yourself a favour and eat here immediately! Definitely one of the best restaurants in the city, I have dreams about the garlic naan. As if that isn’t enough, to top it off it’s managed by some of the most lovely people ever.
One of the best Indian restaurant we’ve tried so far! Certainly in Top 3 in the city! The place gets full really quick at evening so be prepared and reserve ahead of time. There were lots of parking spot outside and it’s really close to 17ave party district. The staff at Moti are amazing and highly attentive to our needs and inquiries. We ordered the Moti Platter, Garlic Naan, Paratha bread and Chicken tikka Masala. Moti platter is basically a mix of tandoori meats chicken, lamb, beef with spicy red sauce, served over a sizzling iron plate. It was a bit spicy but Super Delicious!! Best eaten with the Naan bread. Chicken Tikka Masala was perfect too! Not too spicy and best served with extra onion and jalapeños on the side. I also tried their Indian Lager Beer King Fisher and it was refreshingly good after a long day! Definitely coming back here!!
I have not been here in 5 years, this review is reflective of 5 years ago when I went. The food is decent, although I do like the Green Chili restaurants curry more, however what's really special about Moti Mahal is the restaurant itself! Beautifully decorated, lovely atmosphere, the graphic design of the menu is top par. I would consider it one of the more romantic Indian restaurants out there. Mostly I go for the atmosphere and the service more than the food itself. You really do feel like you are transported to another country. I've been there multiple times now. If you are doing takeout, go with Green Chili, as I like their curries more. But if you are planning to dine in, you can't get better than Moti Mahal.
Best in the area. Family owned and food has a lot of love from the family that makes it here. True indian cuisine with all the fundamentals of spice and taste are really balanced well and warms your heart when you eat it; Just like indian food should. Moti Mahal is the benchmark for what indian food should be here in Calgary, without trying too hard or any misrepresentation of just simply really good indian food. The ratings for this place should be higher for a restaurant like this, for all these reasons.
Our families had a great experience of dinning at moti Mahal. Clean and wonderful staff and food was delicious and nutritious. My grandkids always love to eat her.
I have been eating at Moti Mahal for 20+ years and it never disappoints. Amazing flavours, quality ingredients and beautiful presentation.Food: 5/5
