Motel 6 Albert Lea

Someone had smoked in the room. As soon as AC/Heat was turned On, the smell of cigarette smoking was strong. I had already unpacked so I opted to get room deodorizer from front desk and spray room and go out for dinner. It was better when I returned. Floor had been updated with roll flooring. There were spots that were not glued and “bubbled” off floor surface. Will not stay again.

I would give a negative number if I could. The bed cover had cigarette burns in it, the sheets had what looked like black oil on them. The tub in the bathroom was dirty. And when we entered the room the window was open. Thinking that was weird we closed it and turned on the air. Realizing the burning smell was coming from the air conditioner we turned it off. And the smell went away, So the window was opened again. I have filed a complaint and have not heard a word. I would just going across the street and trying one of them .

This was our first stay on our trip out west and it was not a good start. Our nonsmoking room smelled of smoke (and grew stronger as the night went on). Everything was very dated and didn't appear clean. We did smell bleach so I felt comfortable that perhaps the sheets were at least disinfected and we did not have a bedbug problem so that was good. The parking lot smelled of urine. Based on this stay, I will never book a room at a Motel 6 again.

Very dirty! Clearly the cleaning staff either don't care or are non-existent. This location is extremely run-down and sad. The first room they tried to give us had grease marks on every countertop, a fresh shoe print on a pillow case, greasy bed sheets, hair on the bathroom floor and towels, etc etc etc. The second room had what appeared to be black mold in the bathroom. The third room we settled with, only because it was late and it seemed to be the "cleanest". We still have hairy bathroom towels, greasy countertops, and black stains on the bathroom ceiling. The female staff member was extremely rude. Her excuse was "what do you expect? You're at a Motel 6." I've stayed at plenty of Motel 6's and have never seen one this bad. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they refunded my money. Gross hotel. Rude staff. Stay somewhere else!

Not the worst but wouldn't stay again. I travel doing construction side jobs and stay at the cheaper places. So not expecting much but this place was sketchy. Non smoking room smelled like smoke, no screen on window. Mattress was dipped down where people lay, could see it before laying down. Some improvements of paint and bath fixtures. Slept on top of the blankets.
