This park is a great way to spend a sunny day solo or with family and friends. There is a beach, park benches, picnic tables, trails, and playground structures. Parking is not too far and plentiful during the week. It can get busy even during the week so weekends are super crowded. The bathroom situation was limited but better than nothing.
My visit to Mooney’s Bay Park in Ottawa was a lot of fun and I’ll remember it for a long time. This park, located along the Rideau River, has something for everyone, no matter your age. We kicked off the day with a refreshing swim at Mooney’s Bay Beach, which is one of the city's four supervised beaches. The clear water and sandy shore were the perfect setting for relaxing and having fun. Lifeguards were on duty, making sure everyone was safe.nnAfter swimming, I checked out the extensive picnic areas, which are great for family gatherings and relaxing afternoons. The kids' playground was really lively, with some great structures that got their creative juices flowing. I also checked out the Sue Holloway Fitness Park, which has a great selection of outdoor fitness equipment, so I could get my workout in while enjoying the park's natural beauty.nnOne of the best things I did was rent a stand-up paddleboard. Gliding over the calm waters of the Rideau River was a really peaceful experience, and it gave me a great view of the park’s beautiful surroundings. There were volleyball courts you could rent, and lots of groups were playing games, which added to the lively atmosphere.
Dragon Boat festival was on.nA well organized and fun annual event.nThe festival takes place at Mooney’s Bay park. There are numerous teams represented. Live music, food and beer tents as well as crafts and clothing available to sample and purchase.
Large and beautifully maintained park. Ideal for a family BBQ, with a kids' play area and  volleyball on the beach.
You have to prepare to go there. Washrooms ate open but not sure till what time.nEvenings attract a different crowd as well. Not my favorite city beach tbh..nBest thing about it is the connecting bike paths along the river. Fantastic.nThe pedestrian Bridge near Carleton U should be finished by now.
