Mittleman Jewish Community Center

Visited for the book sale. This is a very beautifully built space with lots of natural light, and intriguing art.

You know that feeling when You enter a spot and you feel unwanted or you don't feel like the vibes are good. Got their felt like I was getting my background checked by TSA or somthing like that. You have a security check point at entrance FYI. And then the guy at the front office was speaking with authority. like it was to much, all we wanted to do is hoop. And then 12 bucks for guest. not even even LA Fittnes charges that much for a guest. Last time I go

I come here for their Gym Services. The locker is clean and has many wonderful amenities, probably the best locker room I have visited. They don't have much gym equipment, but it is in good repair, they have one of each thing basically, and plenty of cardio machines. Pool is great, and often bring in large pool floats to play on!

Nice pool, they were updating much of the woman's locker and hot tub area but still great,, and the little Cafe they have has some really delicious food

Nice staff and security guard to let you into building. Lots of free parking. Free classes and activities. Pool and therapy pool, weight room, racquetball, covered and soccer complex.

Nice facility. It was great to see security at the front! Felt secure. I don’t know if they are armed or not but it would be nice if they were. Just great atmosphere.

Best place ever!!! The pool and facilities are top notch. I love all the community gatherings they put together. Impressed there is always a guard at the entrance... makes me feel safer but sad that that's what's needed this day and age.

One must be a member or guest to enter the center. It is a wonderful place!

Very nice place to go workout. Never really crowded always has machines open. Sauna is very nice. Friendly staff and clean facilities. I've heard the cafe is tasty, but haven't tried it yet. Decent number of classes like yoga, etc come included in membership. Always plenty of parking too

The reason for the two stars is that I was treated aggressive when entering the community center by Rodger Cross manager through OSPS. Mr. Cross rudely yelled "Whatever", to me after asking for his card. He made me feel uncomfortable. He wears a full uniform looking like a police officer. This was not my families first account with Mr. Cross, my son which is a Black male teenager was treated aggressive by him for looking into the community center as well. I thought that my son was over reacting until I experienced his behavior too. I am a from a educated strong Black family that has been trained on equity, equality and cultural bias behavior: BSU, Sisters in Strength, Washington DC Lobbing over student rights, speaking in front of the city council over police officers lacking effective communication with low income people and people of color, Featured in the State of Black Oregon and Urban League Cohort 2015. My son has been involved in Word is Bond for 4yrs and was personally trained on police engagement by PPB and equity throughout our community. This venue is a way to express my feelings without having to figure out the system at MJC. I am now a member and will continue to be one but with the knowledge of knowing that I dont feel safe with him around. I think people should read this so they too can acknowledge the aggressive behavior from Mr. Cross. We Have To Take Care Of One Another. Respect and provide the same equity to all!!!!!! The main desk and workers within the community center were WONDERFUL. They would get 5 stars.
