So we got to town yesterday and stopped in here for food and drinks. We had wings and ribs which were amazing. I had a bison burger which was good not great. The fries were good and then we had a Hawaiian Pizza which was good but small for the price. Great setup and a must go
Great food but service needs improvement...We came here for dinner recently for its arctic char and salmon burger. They were unfortunately out of salmon, but the arctic char was quite good and very reasonably priced. The switch to yam fries was an extra $3 though, which was not communicated to us when we asked... And to talk about the service...When we arrived, the restaurant was full and the hostess asked us to wait, which was fine although in a somewhat cold tone. However, a few minutes later, two customers who came and lined up after us were seated by the hostess before us, with no explanation given at all. The somewhat cold/aloof attitude continued with the waitress, which unfortunately lasted throughout the meal. Also, while we ordered dessert at the same time as the other dishes, we were not asked when we wanted to have it, and it was served with the appetizer before the main, which just felt weird...Popular restaurant but would unfortunately not recommend it due to the service.
One of the best restaurants in Whitehorse! A must try for anyone. The gluten free pizza is the best you will have anywhere. The other person had the Bison burger and the absolutely loved it. The dough tasted great and the toppings made it perfect. Amazing.
This place have an amazing atmosphere and the service team is super friendly. Stuffed Jalapeño as an appetizer is a must! Onion soup very tasty Bison hamburger we think that was a little bit dry due a over cooking maybe…never cooke bison before, not bad don’t misunderstanding me, was good but could be more juicer. For cocktail Buffalo Sour go for it!
Our first meal in Whitehorse was at Miner’s Daughter. We had burgers and the Arctic Char. Delicious meals and the sweet potato fries were yummy. Fast and friendly service. Nice cozy atmosphere and not too loud.
This place is great! The jalapeño poppers and French onion soup are flavorful and filling. Bison burger was tasty but for my preference a more tender patty would be nicer than the solid one- feels like a frozen grocery store patty vs something made in house.
An average bar/pub style restaurant with a variety of Yukon foods. There was some confusion about which door to go through, since Miner's Daughter and Dirty Northern are the same location on Google Maps... One is supposed to be the bar and one the restaurant, but both look like bars when you go in. If the review was helpful, please follow and/or like for more! Service: 2/5 Service was slightly below average. We waited a good few min at the door until someone greeted us and told us to pick any seat. Servers dropped by maybe once during the 1.5 hour meal to refill water. The food took about 30 min to make, I'm not sure if it's because of we entered the wrong restaurant or not. Food: 3/5 We tried a few of their specialties including the Bison Burger and the Arctic Char. The bison burger was a big letdown for me, it didn't taste much different in terms of taste or texture from a White Spot beef patty. The Arctic Char was pretty decent. The ribs rack had good portions, but the meat was a bit on the dry side. COVID: n/a
We had the bison burger and arctic char for dinner, and they tasted great! The service was good although it was a bit busy in the Dirty Northern. Not sure if it would be more staff in the Miner's Daughter side.
We ate two times at the Dirty Northern pub, once on our way up to Tuktoyaktuk and once on our way back. We were not in the restaurant. The Arctic char pictured in photo was absolutely to die for! The very best Arctic char I have ever had, with fried capers, a lovely sauce, roasted garlic, cloves, and potatoes with broccolini. Returning from the north We debated getting the Char again, but decided to go with the truffle pizza, and a couple we were traveling with went the traditional ham and pineapple route. Both were so good, no photographs unfortunately as the pizza disappeared too quickly! Try the Banofee banana toffee if you have any room once finished supper. The craft beer selection Oregon, Vancouver, and Whitehorse is excellent as well. I highly highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Whitehorse. A busy place, there was quite a lineup the first time we were there in mid August, but by the middle of September when we were on our way back it was full but we got in quite easily... both times about 6:00. An added bonus, it's a sports bar, so I got to watch a couple of Blue Jays games which given the general lack of cell service and Wi-Fi in the north was a treat.
I had a great early Diner Burger during my short stopover in Whitehorse. Great Burger and very good Beer selection!
