I am so disappointed in my cake and overall experience. After doing thorough research on different bakeries, I chose Milkyway Pastry because of their beautiful photos and many good reviews. However, from the beginning the communication was lacking. I requested a cake and provided photos and was told they could complete the request. After I paid, I was told that there would be some major differences from the photos I provided. I asked if we could switch the design and was left feeling bad for even asking. Thus, I left the design alone and nervously waited hoping for the best. In retrospect, I wish I would have just cancelled the order. When I picked up the cake it looked like something I could get from a grocery store, not a custom $200 cake. I requested glitter and was told that they would do their best, but it ended up looking more like a mistake than an intentional design element see photo. My friend was really disappointed in her birthday cake and it left me feeling embarrassed. The taste was equally bad. It must have been made the day before because the bottom of the cake was wet and the strawberry filling had gone mushy. I am not sure if any sugar was added to the frosting, but it tasted more like whipped butter. I don’t know what went wrong with my cake, but I would suggest researching other options.
I am so happy that I found in milkyway pastry, we had a big party planned for my daughter 25 yrs old and the other baker who is also a very known in Vancouver canceled on us the day before!!!! When I found Milkyway and explained the situation to TAN she was so compassionate and considerate and agreed to make this amazing cake for us although very short notice. Aside from all these kindness the cake was above and beyond in taste. It was so delicious. My guests were so happy and some said we have never tasted a cake this good before. Kudos to Milkyway and Kudos to Tan and her team

I ordered this beautiful “Queen Cake” from Milkyway Pastry, for my BF’s milestone birthday. I must say that the customer service was excellent and helpful, from beginning to end... including the delivery...as I was in Toronto and it was my first time ordering a cake from here. Well, this cake exceeded my expectations! Absolutely everyone loved this cake. The design was wowww, and the flavour was so delicious! My friend was beyond great full and surprised. Thank you MP for helping my friend feel like a Queen! : <3
Thank you so much for your speedy response and the extra effort you made to fulfil my order. I messaged these guys with less than 24 hours notice to create a box of bespoke cupcakes for my sister’s birthday. I live in the UK and my sister is in BC, but Milkyway Pastry did a fabulous job of making the Union Jack themed frosting and packed them up with some beautiful ribbon AND even hand wrote the note I had asked for. I can’t recommend them highly enough and I will be visiting the bakery personally when I’m next in Vancouver. Thank you so much!
My experience was a disappointing one. First the cake was poorly decorated. The lines were crooked and some were half done. A cake that’s over $200 I expect to be perfect, especially for a milestone birthday. Getting past the decoration, I was thinking it must taste great, seeing all the reviews I read. However, it seems that a key ingredient was missing..sugar. The cake literally had no flavour. And on top of that, the black food colouring that was used, came off on our hands , turned our mouths and tongues black and got on the clothes of our guests. It was a huge mess to say the least. It was so disappointing to have this experience on such a special occasion.

I ordered gender reveal cupcakes for the wrong date. I didn’t realize until the day before when I was suppose to pick them up, i called the bakery only to discover I had placed the order for the following week mistakenly. They were kind enough to come in early the next morning and complete my order at no extra cost. They looked beautiful and tasted fabulous. Thank you again for your hard work and kindness.
