Story

Artisan craft-style dessert cafe serving up artisan crème brûlée and authentic Belgian liège waffles at 245 Union Street Vancouver BC.

A first of its kind in Vancouver, Crackle Crème serves a variety of different flavours of small-batch crème brûlées, including Tahitian vanilla bean, organic matcha, dark chocolate, orange-ginger and, for those who want their dessert with a little kick, a crème brûlée infused with Bailey's Irish cream liqueur. Come and be seduced by the enticing aroma of fresh, baked-to-order liège waffles, with sweet pockets of caramelized pearl sugar imported from Belgium. And for those who can't imagine a fresh-baked waffle with a coffee, we also serve fresh espresso-based lattes and Americanos using Seattle's award-winning, Italian-style Caffe-D'Arte espresso beans.

If you're in Chinatown or around main Street there's a really cute dessert place that's open late. They serve macarons, drinks, and creme brulee. It's owned by a really nice couple. The creme brulee has interesting flavors such as Vietnamese coffee, coconut panda and cereal milk. There are also vegan options. Pictured is the ube vegan creme brulee, and salted caramel creme brulee. I think the texture of the vegan creme brulee could be improved but I'm no expert. The eggs in the normal creme brulee makes the taste way smoother. If you're wondering what the plants are in the store it is a variety of cacti and avocado plants homegrown from the seed!
The treats are so soft and delicious. I’ve been here a few times and it’s a small shop. There are only a few chairs and the seating area is small but most folks just pick up their orders and eat elsewhere. It’s a beautiful and quiet cafe. They are many cute macaron designs to choose from. They are on the proper side, but it is a nice treat.
We tried this place on our visit to Vancouver and I will definitely go again. The variety of créme brulee flavors is amazing. We tried the Ferrero Rocher and the Pandang Coconut flavors which were both delicious. The hardened sugar definitely made a sound on cracking! The macaroons selection is also really good with great anime and cartoon designs.
They have an extended selection of crème brûlée flavours regular size and jumbo. I enjoyed the cereal milk and hojicha. Also tried brown sugar milk tea but didn’t like it as much as the other two, still delicious nonetheless. The macarons are adorable and tasty.Recommended dishes
The place to go to for the cutest looking macarons with Pokémon characters and studio gibli characters too. The best flavour selection of creme brulee! They have pandan coconut, ube, and vegan options too. A gem for sure! Will be back. Must try!
Honestly i was shocked how small the place is. However, it is super cozy and friendly & you can feel it’s a family business that is filled with love vibe. I really enjoyed the time I spent there. Their macarons are DELICIOUS and served in cute designs. But they should work on their waffle tho as it wasn’t the best. Overall loved it and definitely will be coming back again
i’ve never had more people ask where i was then when i posted their macarons to my story lol they are the cutest and all handmade super cozy space with beautiful and tasty desserts at good prices. space is tight so luckily i was there at an off time
Came for the macarons, which were impeccably designed and absolutely yummy! The buttercream in particular is luscious with a sweetness that’s just right. Worth the visit!
This place was such a hidden gem. They wasn’t too busy when we went there even on the festival’s day at china town. They have a lot of cute handcrafted Macarons with all the different flavors. Also their bourbon Creme brulee was so amazing!! I still want more of it now!! The thai tea wasn’t taste like thai teathey’re greeen!!! but it’s still acceptable
Crackle Creme - Pandan Coconut Creme Burlee ~$6 7/10 the creme burlee is so silky smooth and creamy. i wish the pandan flavour was stronger because it was very mild. it felt like it just had a hint of pandan and i couldn’t taste the creme burlee. i hope they’ll make the pandan coconut flavour stronger because it would be a great dessert for the summer! i would get their other flavours instead. i think creme burlee is too heavy of a dessert to have during a hot day. staff is always kind and sweet and they offer free water in mason jars!! i would get it dine in because it’s an extra charge for takeout. sadly i won’t get the jumbo size for this flavour. i would recommend going in the daytime!
