Shoyu Sushi

Great late night spot for some sushi. It’s conveniently located in downtown on the corner of District Cafe. They open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, which is pretty awesome. Overall I think their rolls were probably the best out of all the dishes ordered. I don’t think there are any designated parking spaces specifically for the restaurant but there are plenty of street parking nearby generally free after 6:30pm.

Beautifully plated, delicious food. Generous portions. Staff that cares about your experience. Being greeted at the entry way us huge for my family and I. This place has my heart and I'm so lucky to live so near them. We've been to this location three times so far and each experience we try something different. Their cucumber salad is fancy and makes a great appetizer for a party of 2-3 people. I highly recommend their momo peach sake $30ish because it's sweet like juice and delicious!

My 12 year old daughter and I visited for lunch today. We LOVED it! It was delicious and our server was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had the Bento box and a dynamite roll. Everything was amazing! The Bento box came with soup and salad and gave various options. On another note, the water was cold and refreshing and our server kept our glasses full. There is an option to eat outside or in. I would definitely recommend Shoyu Sushi!

Shoyu Sushi was good! The two best items were the sashimi and the cucumber salad! The menu had great selection, however, the price was slightly too steep in my personal opinion. I would have sprung for a sushi restaurant that offers all you can eat.

We saw the high reviews of this place so wanted to give it a try. I do not understand how legitimate reviews would rate this place so high. The service was great, the food was mediocre at best. Probably slightly better than a Japanese fast food. They didn't have some items we wanted on the menu but the prices were reasonable slightly higher than a Japanese fast food. So overall, I would say it's an average 3 stars.

Went here on a whim. And I am glad me and my friend did! Servers were great and attentive and the food all tasted great! I took off a star because they were quite heavy on the rice and its totally not needed! Food was really tasty and good portions minus the super thick rice they had on them. I wanted to give 5 stars but the rice ratio was too much! If they fix that, and i’m sure they will, it will be a great sushi place! The hamachi sashimi and the volcano roll minus the thick rice was fantastic!!! Definitely a place i will recommend to friends to try!

Very good quality fish. Amazing service. Really enjoyed their sushi rolls and nigiri. Will definitely be coming again. Only possible downside would be the limited parking but other than that no complaints at all!

I went to this place today and I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. The service was very nice, the server could answer any questions I asked, she was very knowledgeable and polite. The only complaintif it could be called a complaint would be that she neglected to tell us her name. Would've loved to call her out for her exceptional service. Appetizers were good, just filling enough for the main course. I had chicken karaage and cream cheese wontons. Very delicious, probably slightly more enjoyable than the main dish but that's because I love deep fried food. For the main dish I ordered the chefs choice sushi platter, my cousin got the sashimi platter. It was good enough that I couldn't tell if most of the sushi was frozen previously or not....MOST of the sushi that is. Despite what some of these reviews say, I know for sure that the regular salmonnot wild has been frozen before. That's okay though, everything tasted delicious. Everything was pleasant, nothing stood out as amazing but I would come here again for some of the only good sushi in Edmonton.

Service was amazing! Server seemed young but she was very engaging and attentive : My family loved my server and really added on into the warm atmosphere in the restaurant :D The food was fresh and hot and the serving is actually pretty big. There were only 6 volcano rolls, but one is already very filling and they weren’t going cheap on the filling of each sushi rolls either. Definitely worth the money! As well as, the spicy crispy dynamite roll! Got me dancing by how flavourful everything was. I recommend the spicy tonkotsu ramen! It’s very filling and the meat was very tender. The takoyaki was piping hot when served, so it’ll definately take time to cool down, but once it does, it is sooo fresh! I’ll be coming back with my friends to try more stuff!!! :3

My friend and I loved it!!! It was delicious. We will be back for sure. Just 2 recommendations. The sashimi , my friend felt it should served over ice. We both thought it would Bice to have Japanese music playing. The staff was extremely friendly and they explained and answered our questions. Other than that!! Wow my Hawaiian roll was the best thing ever!!!
