Midas

Went to Midas because of the $39.99 oil change deal and the free brake evaluation. I also noticed that they had a $59 brake promotion which looked good until you read the fine print ($59 per axel, then a few hundred for labor, so really not much of a deal as it looks) Apparently the oil change was not $39.99, it ended up being $65, and I never quite got a straight answer as to why that was. (If I’d had know this I would have gone to Great Canadian Oil change where I normally go since it’s always $50 and no hassle). They asked me why I wanted my brakes evaluated- in reality I just didn’t know the state of my brake pads but I didn’t want to tell them that in case they tried to up sell me so I just said I had heard them squeak (they weren’t squeaking..yet that still showed up on my invoice as something the mechanic had noticed when he took it for a drive) They told me the brakes looked fine, just needed a clean maybe, and I was happy to hear that. However then they handed me the invoice and some how I had racked up $500?! I said I wasn’t interested but the guy was really pushing a brake service/fluid flush and all this other stuff on me that I’m sure my car doesn’t need (I bought it new 6 months ago..) I just kept saying I wasn’t interested and he continued talking me through all this stuff my car “needed”. Eventually he backed off and complained about how now he needed to do the invoice over again and would have to tell the mechanic to put my wheels back on. I paid for my over priced oil change and waited another hour before I got my car back. Super disappointed with this place.. what a scam.

I came right at 8am to take advantage of their “express” oil change service. There were no other cars in line yet I was still turned away. This was the 3rd and last time that I will try to use this company. This is honestly false advertising. Would give 0 stars but it is not an option.

I went to get an oil change, but was told it would be hours before they could get to my car, and it was suggested that I make an apt for the following day to avoid waiting. So I did. My apt was at 11 but I didn't leave Midas till 1. My car sat in the parking lot for an hour and a half before even moving into the garage. They didn't vacuum my mats as promised, instead i was told to come back another time to have that done (yeah right). 2 hours for an oil change with an appointment is insane. Will never go back.

I have two vehicles that are regularly serviced at 547 Gardiners Road. They are both over 12 years old but Jeff's staff keep them both in great running order.Dave, Tina and Jeremy are very helpful at the front line and the shop staff is also good at helping me to see any work that should be done. This is by far the best service I have ever had in my 44 years of vehicle ownership. Thanks for your caring service!
