Merlin's Drive Inn

I went to Bear Lake with some friends and we decided to try as many Raspberry shakes as we could. We went to 5 or 6 different places and decided Merlin's was the best. It only took them a couple minutes to make them, but we were also the only customers there at the time.

We ordered 2 double cheeseburgers, two large fries, and two shakes. I went outside to wait for my order and the shakes were out in 5 minutes. The food however, took another 20 minutes! I was literally staring at our finished order under the heat lamp for 10 minutes waiting for it to be bagged up. No one was around to finish the order. Finally someone started getting bags and when they had my order ready, I had realized there was only one large fry in the bag. The cashier did not count the second fry so they wanted me to pay another $3.23 which is outrageous considering we paid $25 for 2 meals. Merlins, here's a tip. If you want to keep happy customers, get better management and more employees to fulfill orders quickly and with quality.

Got a couple delicious raspberry shakes here. The shakes were ready in a few minutes. The shakes only come in one size which is like a medium 20 oz cup filled with ice cream above the rim. They provided some extra cups and spoons to split shakes for the kids. Pricing is typical of a seasonal resort town restaurant. It is a convenient location for food or shakes if you are on the south end of the lake.

The food is good. The shakes are great, made with fresh fruit. Is it pricey? Yes but show me a tourist trap that isn't. It is worth the visit. I think certain reviews above would complain if they were hung with a new rope.

Cute family owned restaurant. Great Food and wonderful customer service. The two girls who run the place are so sweet and helpful! I am definitely turning my stop at Merlins into a tradition.
