LaBeau's

LaBeau's is a Bear Lake staple. Their food is tasty and reasonably priced. As with most places in this area, they have fantastic raspberry milkshakes. I can't say they stand out any more than their competition within a few blocks of here, but we often go for the LaBeau's name. The biggest downside here is that they have their dumpsters over on the West side of the building, adjacent to a large portion of their outdoor seating (it's all outdoor seating). Every time we eat here, we get stuck on that West side and the dumpster smell can be overwhelming on a hot day. And that's coming from a guy that spends over a month each year working in landfills... so it's generally a smell I'm used to.

Great shakes! If you ask to combine flavors not printed on the menu together they will do it.

Famous Bear Lake fast food joint, which can get extremely crowded! If the line is too long, hit one of the other spots in town. The food is good, but not worth an extreme wait. If the wait is reasonable, partake of a Bear Lake tradition!

This place is normally PACKED (caps intended). Shakes are good. Burgers are good. I like it. But given a line that wraps around the building, there are equally scrumptious locations that lack the line. But everyone can continue to go here so I can go elsewhere to skip the line! : )

I have eaten here once every year since I was a teenager in the 80s, and my kids have done it since they were born. Even though they are now all adults, we all still look forward to it every year. We ALWAYS get a LaBeau's Special, fries and a raspberry shake, then diet the rest of the year to eliminate the calories. There has never been a single screw-up on any of our orders, never an unfriendly employee, nor a substandard food item. There are other good places to eat in the area, but if you want a fantastic burger meal, LaBeau's is the BEST, at least as far as the traditional items we consistently get.
