At here for dinner on a weekday 8/22. They seemed to be slow. The entrance is on the East side of the restaurant. We thought they were closed as it wasn’t clear where the entrance was we were seated immediately and our food server took our drink order. We had the fried shrimp and steak tacos. The shrimp were really over cooked and dry. It seemed like they were dipped twice The steak tacos were fine not great. The meat was dry but the pico and sauce were tasty. The service was decent. The decor was pleasant especially for a car guy. No appetizers or dessert were offered. The menu prices fluctuate enough so the menu prices are outdated. I don’t think we would eat here again.
Do I recommend Cody's? Yes, yes, yes! The service was exceptional! The food was delicious! The atmosphere, let me say this, "I appreciate vintage vehicles. I enjoy getting greasy working on cars. I really enjoyed my breakfast." If I ever get back to Garden City, Utah, I WILL make sure to stop in.
Honest rating would be 1.5 stars - The good! The staff were very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is pretty unique and very much my vibe! I was thrilled that as soon as I walked in I was greeted by what appears to be a very clean rebuilt Harley Davidson motorcycle! The place is super clean which helps sell the 'converted an auto shop into a restaurant' theme. The rest: Unfortunately the Garden City location seems severely understaffed. There are 'warning' signs that basically ask patrons to be nice and lower their expectations because the restaurant can't hire or keep anyone on. The staff that was there was fairly attentive, but they mostly just apologized that the food was taking so long. I was there with just one friend, the rest of the tables were only half filled, and our burgers were nearly forty minutes in waiting, with the appetizer coming out a few minutes after that. Another unfortunate thing is that, assuming the kitchen is understaffed, the food quality probably suffered from it. The menu descriptions sound like great flavor combinations, and the pricing would leave me to expect a bit more, but I was fairly underwhelmed when I bit into it. Looked good, but left much to be desired. FOOD ALLERGY WARNING! The 'unbelievable' burger has a secret sauce - it's Nutella. It kinda worked for my buddy, like it didn't ruin his burger, but there is no indication on the menu that the burger would have tree nuts in it. Seeing as this is an unexpected choice for a burger 'sauce' I would have thought the restaurant would have a bit more obvious caution for a common allergy than small print at the bottom of the menu saying that you should tell your sever of any food allergies. PS - I don't feel too bad about spoiling the secret because multiple employees were very open about it. I expect if we had asked what the secret was as we were ordering they would have told us TL;DR - the place is understaffed right now, and you can expect to wait nearly an hour for a 7 dollar burger that costs 18 bucks. Cool motorcycles, though
We came in about 3-3:30 PM and the place was pretty empty. We didn't have to wait long for the hostess, but that wasn't the case for the couple that came in behind us that sat themselves and then left after never being helped. We ordered the Philly cheese, which isn't a Philly at all, but it was ok. The fries were amazing though. However, they get a 2 star rating due to service. Our server was mediocre at best. All of the staff hid in the back and the best part was when my wife went to use the restroom, only one stall was available and it was filthy so she had to find them to make them aware. There isn't a lack of employees here, just seems like they don't care.
03/12/22 Today I stopped in for my first time. The place looks amazing and is super clean. There’s lots of seating, likely this place gets busy during the summer, today however it was pretty slow when I went in. I immediately was seated. I ordered Wings with 89 sauce for an appetizer and the fish basket for lunch. The fish basket came out first before the app which was odd but not why I’m giving this place 2 stars. I bit into my first fish stick and something was off. Inspecting in it appeared that the batter wasn’t cooked thoroughly. I hate sending food back so I went to the next stick and I take a bit into ice cold fish. Just for curiosity I picked the 3rd one up and it too was cold. My waitress I had to grab from another table about 7 minutes after my food was delivered and when I explained the situation she gave me a glaring look as if sending back frozen fish was an inconvenience to her. During the wait the wings finally came out wings were good and then my re-microwaved fish came back out. I say microwaved instead of cooked because the fries were soggy, I think all of us know microwaving fries makes them soggy. Anyway they gave me 20% off just the fish basket. Now that’s a kind gesture but the meal is $16, 20% equates to $3.20 off my meal. Never was I told sorry we gave you frozen food. That would have been better than a discount honestly but the waitress was disconnected and with frozen food and below par service this place gets a 2. The picture is of my food once it re-came out.
The food was delicious. We had a bit of a wait as there was only 1 waitress, but that seems rather normal these days. Even though she was working by herself, she did a great job and got us everything that we needed and checked on our table regularly. The food was great. Maybe a little bit spicy for some, but being from Texas I am used to spicy food and it was seasoned to perfection. I loved the decor and they even use shop towels for napkins which I thought was hilarious.
Wow, this place was AMAZING! It was my first time visiting Bear Lake, and the weather was bad Jet-ski cancelled so me & my boyfriend decided to stop by here! The wait was less than 10 minutes for our food! The nachosaurus was so big and filling! We also got the unbelievable burger with sweet potato fries & marshmallow sauce!! We ended up getting another order of the fries because that sauce was SO good!!! The waitress was a sweetheart. Overall such a great experience.
I love the look and feel of this restaurant. It absolutely nails the retro garage feel and remains professional. I had the Unbelievable Burger. The bun was very crisp and the “secret sauce” was good. The bacon on the burger was great, but the burger patty itself seemed a bit overdone. A perfectly fine Burger. The Wave Length Fries were fantastic and paired with their fry sauce well. I also really enjoyed their sweet potato fries and the marshmallow dipping sauce that went with them. My wife’s salad had bad produce in it, and they messed up her order twice. Our server also seemed to want us to order and leave quickly despite us being one group of three customers there. Overall the atmosphere here was great, the food was good, and the service was serviceable.
Visiting from another Utah town. We chose between this and another grub joint that had good ratings, and we chose this. When we were being seated, the waiter notified us of a 16 person sitting that he just got seated and it might be a little longer than a normal wait. If it weren’t for the large party before us, we would have been out of there within an hour. I got the Carne Asada Quesadilla, and my dad got the Incredible Burger or whatever they call it. The ranch with my side salad was PHENOMENAL as well as the salsa made with my Quesadilla. The burger looked excellent as well. The meat cooked on my quesadilla was medium, which I didn’t ask for, but is my preferred cook of choice. If it were fully staffed and I still got the same experience and wait I would give 4 stars, but since he rocked it I’m giving 5. Will definitely be coming back next time, if not even for a hot chocolate. THANKS!!!!
Don’t get the Salmon. Very odd smell and not cooked properly. Even the waiter said it smelled funny. Other menu items were really good though. You’ve been warned.
