There's so much that we saw in the short time we were there. It's a great place to explore, and the extra sound effects of goings on really sets the experience apart! The fish festival we went to was ending, but we managed to enjoy some very tasty food! Overall, we plan to visit again. Folks were so kind and friendly as well! I pray they keep those blueberries there, but I think they will.
We visited Memory Lane Heritage Village after going on the Clam Digging Adventure, so I’ll rate the clam digging adventure first. It was an amazing experience! Our host was a 4th generation clam digger, who along with his son, was very friendly and knowledgeable, with lots of patience and stories. We gathered many clams, and the cooks at Memory Lane Heritage Village later cooked them up for us. I highly recommend this experience! Next, we perused the Heritage Village while the clams were steamed for us. It was amazing! The school house was exactly what my parents explained to me they had when they went to school. The boat making building had a boat under construction and wood shavings still on the floor. The food in the cafeteria was second to none … absolutely incredible and lots of it. What an amazing experience!
The day we arrived, we did not have much time to view everything in its full glory! But this place is just magical, the moment you enter from the road, it feels like you are in a different era! The old machinery and vehicles is what always takes my fancy, can't resist some nostalgia. I see this location is temporary closed, I hope that it reopens soon, so everyone can visit!
What an incredible experience. The maritime hospitality is everything you were hoping for and more. The tour is an immersive experience that makes you feel like you are right there. We also went clam digging- super cool experience. I highly recommend both!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure

Amazing day trip. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and excited to tell us about what this place had to offer! Definitely friendly to all ages and a great place for pictures. It's nice to go somewhere where you can actually interact with history in a hands on way without everything being in glass cases. Food was great too. Definitely will go back.
Beautiful location for events, wedding receptions, vintage photoshoots, and much more. They host events and openhouses throughout the year that are fun, informative and inexpensive for a day of fun for both adults and kids. A must see. They also have a Historical Society and archive, which is great for those of you who are History buffs!
This is a wonderful and fantastic place to come visit. The staff take great care in maintaining the museum and making it a center for the community. Definitely a must see if you are in the area!Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The only drawback is that it is an hour from Halifax, and I wish they were much closer! Even during COVID where they had part of it shut down for safety, this quaint little village is well worth your time, especially since entrance is by donation. TONS of WWII propaganda posters, old timer tools, and a mini-scavenger hunt for toy trucks! There are stilts to play with, an amazing gift shop filled with old and new treasures, and then there's the cookhouse. $14 for a sandwich, dessert, drink, and soup. Amazing deal, served on classic Maritime Brown Bread? Yes please. And they offer picnic meal bundles if you want to eat on the grounds! Super safe and comfortable during COVID, do recommend!
Helpful knowledgeable staff, lots to see, amazing food, even if don't eat meat. They have a couple cheep, chickens and the sweetest kittens I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Just please do as the staff say and close doors behind you so the animals don't enter rooms they're not supposed to and make a mess it was a shame to see a LOT of people not caring enough to do this.
