We took our one year old for his first cut and were understandably nervous. But we felt well taken care of, once there. Gordana was super quick, and made the experience as painless as possible. We got to pick a chair to sit in and he loved the steering wheel. She also gave him a toy to play with while he was scared if the shaver. It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my perspective. Plus, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and they spaced out appointments so that everyone felt comfortable and not too crowded.
I took my 2.5 year old toddler to get his first haircut at this place. Kim was very gentle, efficient, skilled, and very patient. The place was clean, had tons of toys to purchase, and overall was a nice vibe for children. They used scissors as opposed to electric blades which is comforting. Before the cut, I explained what I was looking to do with my son's hair and we went back and forth and agreed on the overall cut. We got to pick a chair which had different themes ranging from airplanes, police motorbikes, to cars which made the experience fun, they even had steering wheels on some. I was very happy with my son's haircut, and it took no more than 15 min. to cut his hair. Cost of a kid's haircut is $28 bucks which is fine in my opinion. They also had other services as well. There was also street side paid parking which made it very convenient. Overall, you're paying for the cut, atmosphere, and different elements that keep your kid engaged or busy while getting a cut.Service: Kids' cuts
Very Unsatisfied Don’t recommend this place.. Decided to go here because my daughter who is on the Spectrum had been to a melonheads before… kind of felt a lil rushed while there .. hair dresser didn’t ask if I wanted her hair styled after or anything just cut & go .. anyways my daughter usually gets upset when getting her hair cut . This is the first time she was soo well behaved & calm .. didn’t notice till I gave her a bath that her Cut is OFF. Wish I would’ve noticed & said something right away .. We drove an hour to get there. Anyways guess I won’t be going back.. ALSO they said that they have experience working with children with autism .. I DONT THINK SO .. the hairdresser with white hair kept telling my child to look down while Cutting her hair … Like Hello she has autism & is non verbal. Hairdressers have cut my child’s hair amazing even while she’s having a fit in the past.
Took our 1yr old for his first haircut. All the stars aligned and he slept off just as we entered the salon. Melonhead folks were accommodating and jumped into action. We thought it could be a shave but they informed us that they won't shave for babies because their skin is so soft. The little monster got a close crop and the sweet lady did this without even waking him up! Happy with the service!! Definitely recommend!
My son just had his first hair cut here and Gordana did a great job. She cut his hair quickly, but also professionally. My son was calm the whole time and it was a very nice experience overall. They even give you a certificate and some hair to keep for a first hair cut, which I appreciated.
We specifically came here so that it would be a fin experience for a childs first haircut. Horrible experience. I told them when I booked that it was my child's first haircut and again when we came in thinking they would make a bit more of an effort but not at all. There was no "welcome" or effort to make us feel comfortable. We even had to place our things on the floor because we weren't offered any other place. The woman with the white hair just sat my daughter down and attacked her with a hairbrush and started brushing her knots out very fast and made her cry right off the bat. Didn't use detangler or make any effort to make it less painful. Then she asked me if her hair was washed and I said no and that I thought this was a part of the haircut experience. When I asked her to wash it she said it had to be requested at the time you make an appointment nowhere is this mentioned. I tried to push but at this point my daughter is wailing from getting attacked with a hairbrush and says she doesn't want it washed. When it came time to cut she basically took the equivalent of kitchen shears and chopped it off. It's not particularly straight and quite jagged. She barely spoke to my daughter or engaged her other than telling her how to hold her head. Didn't blow it dry at the end or anything. 15 minutes and that was it. She did offer her a pony ride at the end but otherwise it was an awful experience. This place has no interest in dealing with children or providing nice haircuts. It's basically a toy store where they want to sell you anything and everything. Bill comes and it's $31 dollars and the tip prompt starts at 18%. Just disappointing. Do not bring your child here. I left the place in tears and am so sad that was my child's first experience with a hair salon. The allure of the cute seats is not worth it. Just take your kid to your regular stylist.Service: Kids' cuts
Anu did a wonderful job with my two boys!! She was so kind and patient with my 4 year old who has sensory issues and this was his first professional haircut. She also did great with my one year old! Highly recommend her as well as all the lovely staff there that we were in contact with :
Brought my son here because he use to be so sacared of getting haircuts. This salon is especially geared for children, from the chairs to the decorations. All the hairdressers have lots of experience with children of all ages . Now my son is comfortable getting haircuts be he still loves coming here.
The experience wasn’t bad. They were super nice. But my sons hair was hacked off. I’m so sad. He had a lord farquaad cut, and so we needed to fix the year of mommy cuts with something a bit more fresh. We were hoping for a cute little bowl cut. One MILLION snips later and he has one thousand layers that do not blend at all and are so uneven. I just look at him and feel so disappointed - it’s like a weed wacker got him. It’s like he’s wearing a really bad old Ellen wig… it’s like he’s Jo March after she cuts/sells her hair to buy her mom a train ticket Judy Garland version. Thankfully hair grows back and this is just more content for him for his wedding day or some equally as special.
This location wasn't nice. She cut my son's hair too fast, like it was judgment day, she didn't even comb his hair while cutting, she used her hand. This location is a toy store with actors playing barbers. She tried to keep his sides longer so we have to come back sooner, I had to tell her to cut it down. She didn't even fade his head, you can see the different levels.
