Meineke Car Care Center has been America’s local auto repair shop since 1972. Starting out as a muffler shop we have expanded to a full service car repair shop that performs services from car ac repair to exhaust repair to tire changes at our tire shop. I took my car in because it had a check engine light on. I was told there was a misfire in cylinder 1 and I needed a new knock sensor. He said I needed to pay $90 for them to tell me what was wrong with it. The guy came back and said my head gasket was blown and that I needed an entire engine rebuild. He then quoted me $500 for an ignition coil and a knock sensor. I decided to wait to fix it and had it towed to my home so I could replace those parts myself. I got both parts for less than $40. When I went to replace the coil, I discovered exactly what was wrong. I accidentally got oil in the ignition coil chamber because of a bad gasket. The spark plug could not fire. I cleaned up the mess and replaced the coil. Now, about $40 later, my car is running fine. I basically paid the guy $90 to invent problems that weren't there so they could make extra money. I got a second opinion about the head gasket and was told the head gasket is totally fine. This is shameful business practice. Mechanics already hike their prices up to unrealistic amounts and on top of that, this mechanic was wanting to fix issues that were not even there to rip off a customer even more.

Sucks! Do not go here! They tried to rip me off $600 by telling me I had a problem that wasn't there. Never go here. I wasted that $100 on a diagnosis of my 4x4 not working, it took them 4 hours to look under the truck and make a bogus problem that they could charge me for. When I crawled under the truck it took me all of 5 min to fix the 4x4 because I forgot to connect the actuator last time I worked on it.

I went in for an oil change, which shouldn't take that long, but I was there for forty minutes. They gave me a quote for an oil pan gasket for $365, when the gasket for my 96 Jeep is $9.99 at auto zone. They told me how badly I need tires and wrote me a quote even though I didn't want it. (And I have studded snow tires im switching too, but since I'm a girl they probably assumed I just knew nothing about tires). Also, since I was waiting for a while, I used the restroom, which was DISGUSTING. The toilet seat was up and covered in pee. The bathroom floor and sink were dirty, and there were no paper towels anywhere so I couldn't even wrap a towel around anything-because trust me, I didn't want to touch a thing in that restroom. All I wanted was an oil change and I left with a novel of supposed broken parts, wasted time, and a filthy feeling. I doubt I will be going back.

Took my car into there shop today.they say I need new cables to my battery and that should fix it..great! Come back 30 mins later nope that didn't work..oh no!! They tell me they are going to look into a bit more..great!! Come back 10 mins later hey if you want us to look into better pay 107 for a diagnosis.but first you need a new battery for 200 cause that's the only way to diagnose the problem?? What why?? Cause there computer said so that's why?? Haha.oook let me go to Wal-Mart and get one for cheaper.instead I go get another mechanic to get second opinion..Meineke gets upset cause I knew my battery was good and my mechanic knew more then there's..and get into a shouting match because he thought he was the best in Boise to fix my car and he says take your dam car and pushes my car out of the garage shop haha.they told me my car was going to cost me thousands to fix cause it's a hybrid..what a dam joke this place is..hey guess what I replaced my battery for 45 dollars and guess what..It starts!! Do not take your car to them what so ever.they almost took me for a ride and I'm sure they will take you also.and the boss Dean did nothing but let his employee yell like a little baby cause they weren't going to make there thousands off this lady..I got the last laugh here..suckers!!😛
