McDade Park

Excellent park to take a walk or just sit and enjoy the views, it has a pool, playground, tennis court, basketball picnic area and more. Love it!

We really enjoyed this beautiful park. We went to an educational event, had a picnic at one of the pavilions, went on the coal mine ride, and went to the museum. It was a lovely day.

Beautiful park offering a coal mine tour for only $10 for adults, seniors 62 + free. Museum, gift shop, small café on site while you wait for a tour you can sit and watch an informative video on the coal mine.

McDade Park is hands-down one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve been to in Northeast PA. It’s not only full of natural beauty and walking trails, but it also holds such a special place in my heart—I’ve brought my dogs here in the past, and every visit felt like a breath of fresh air.nnTucked near my Aunt Sharon’s house and just down the street from Pizza Plus bonus: grab a covered white pizza after a walk!, this park seriously has it all—wide open spaces, a playground, tennis courts, a splash pad, picnic areas, and even a pool. Plus, it’s right next to the iconic Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, which makes for a perfect day of outdoor adventure and learning.nnAlso, I believe it’s smoke-free, which really makes the air feel cleaner and the environment more enjoyable for everyone—especially families and kids.nnMcDade Park is truly a gem—perfect for a peaceful walk, a family outing, or just unwinding in nature. 10/10 recommend!

We love coming to the park and walking the trails. It is always clean and peaceful. We love taking pictures all though our walk. I always think every spot is the perfect photo opt. But whether we are on the trails or walking by the pond or the playground or having a picnic or party there, it's always a great time.
