Very good! It is very different from the Mariano's that I often go to, which is near Ashland and Archer Avenues. It has two floors, a wide selection of international foods, and an outdoor seating area. I've been here only once, 6/27/2022, so I have no idea what's on the 2nd floor, but I'm assuming liquor.
I can’t say enough good things to this grocery store. Great service - especially from the deli/ meat counter. Good quality foods for good prices. Very nice grocery store. Everything is put nicely on the shelves. The store is always spotless and well stocked. Large selection of produce that looks fresh. Checkout counters are professional and polite.
This market is huge and has a wide variety of food products. The place was very clean, and the products were well stocked. They have fresh products such as meat, vegetables, and fruits. They also have different selections of drinks, from canned juice to bottled liquor. They also have an area for smoothies, which I personally loved. I love smoothies, and I am so happy I get to have one after doing some groceries. They also have a section for pastries, which all look so fresh and delicious. They have blueberry and strawberry cakes, and a lot more. They have breads that look so fresh and tasty. These are all perfect for birthdays and even on special occasions. The customer service is great, and the people there are very helpful. I am so glad I had everything I needed from this market.
Fantastic customer service great selection and the prices are truly fair. I stop by the store regularly because of the cleanliness and selection Oh yeah and most of all the staff is amazing.
Good selection - although our bagger completely ignored our groceries as they piled up and stared at her phone while we bagged our own groceries. Cashier was completely aloof of the situation until we asked for paper bags then she started to help us bag our remaining groceries. 9/18 at 6:25 PM
Where it’s a pleasure to shop. That’s how I feel about this store. Gelato,Sushi.Coffee,Juice,Grill Pastries,Chocolate.Salads.Not only great produce. All the items needed for the average household, but a good place to have a nosh or carry out. Plenty of safe parking.Nice layout. Now self checkout. Now the bad news.Did you know that sale prices are only for shoppers with Marianos cards? Fair cashier service. They desperately need Apple Pay to replace their slow.credit card chip readers and long lines. This brings the experience from a pleasure to an aggravation”””
I was very fond of this Mariano's but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and has made me rethink shopping here. A sale was posted on water. I asked someone who was stocking merchandise about the price and for help getting the water off the top shelf that I regularly struggle to reach. He said he would send someone to assist me. I waited for over 10 minutes and no one ever came. I eventually had to put my child on my shoulders to grab bottles and lower them down. This was painful and time consuming. I took a photo of the sale price so I wouldn't have any issues at checkout. An employee in passing said she saw the sale earlier and tried to purchase the water too but it didn't ring up correctly. The cashier was kind and patient and called a manager who unapologetically told me the signage was incorrect and he wouldn't honor the sale price. Despite the fact there was no limit on the sale, no restrictions in the signage, he said it was it was at his discretion and he wouldn't honor it. His indignation was apparent as if my request to honor the clearly posted price was absurd. He only offered to partially discount 6 of the the 17 water bottles that I spent 15 minutes climbing shelves to collect. He was not outwardly rude but his demeanor was dismissive, as if I was in the wrong for asking the store to sell the merchandise for the advertised price. If the signage from corporate was printed incorrectly, and posted, and employees saw it, recognized there was an error, and still didn't correct it or pull it, then the consumer should not be penalized. That's false advertising and poor customer. The sale should have been honored, then the signage pulled and corrected.
Excellent place to shop. No long waits for the most times I've shopped. Good sales. Discounts with their card.
Stopped in today to finish one of our new seafood creations, today is Sunday Dec 3rd. Great service today. Josh and Andrew on this day were phenomenal, and Josh went above and beyond in the description, texture, and flavor of the product. Well done. Regards, Gabe.
I cannot recommend shopping at the Mariano’s, when comparing it to other Mariano’s in the city. Let’s start with the parking lot. It’s always a mess, there’s some sort of police equipment parked there that takes 2 out of the already limited number of spaces. Also, people so consistently park over the lines, I’ve decided that they measured them wrong with drawing them. You often get a tiny space in between two cars that a motorcycle could barely fit in. Lest you think I’m just some “car person” who doesn’t like the city, let’s move to inside. They are frequently out of shopping carts, the produce area is barely navigable because theres always boxes and things piled up in the aisles. It’s almost a fire hazard. And even with COVID, this Mariano’s consistently runs out of the strangest items that I can find in other Mariano’s. For example, multiple times this store has run out of corn tortillas. I don’t mean the one brand that I prefer, I mean ALL corn tortillas. Also, the distributors clearly haven’t been visiting in a while. You’ll see a shelf that’s fully stocked except for the 4 items that people buy. Why not devote more shelf space to those items? If they have remaining stock left, the ones that are left are half open, sometimes taped shut by desperate store employees. Finally, the checkout areas are a mess. Those self-checkout areas are all that function, but trying to do a full week’s worth of shopping when there are three slots for holding your stuff is insane. I’ve seen multiple people drop items off of the weighted area trying to make space for all of their stuff. I don’t blame the employees for this, they’re doing their best. I gave 2 stars instead of one because at least the people who shop here are wearing masks and the employees are trying. Management is clearly the failure. Update: If anything, this store has gotten WORSE since I posted the review. Check the photos I’ve attached. Before 9 AM and the parking lot is full, workers are parked so you can’t get into the garage and the line is backed up at the registers. I went to the one in Greektown and despite a less desirable parking situation, the inside of the store doesn’t even compare. It’s like two different stores. New management is needed here stat.
