This neighborhood playground is definitely a destination playground. The fully enclosed play area features a soft rubber play surface, an artificial turf field with the Cubs logo befitting it's location close to Wrigley Field and the namesake of the park - Margaret Donahue, several benches, and picnic tables covered by large shade umbrellas. The two play structures are both solid; one is designed for younger children and the other is designed for older children and features cues to famous Chicago skyscrapers at the tops. There is also a large net climbing feature and the normal variety of swings. The standout features of this playground, though, are the water features. There is a three part overhead shower-like sprayer, a misting ring, a few jets coming from a mosaic wall, and an interactive water table. Given all the amenities, this playground is popular in the summer months and for good reason - this is a great playground.
We really enjoyed this park for a few reasons. Firstly, the splash pad is a good size and helps with beating the heat over summer. I do wish the floor was not cement as if there is a fall, it is more dangerous. I liked the area with the faux turf. There are balls and toys to play with. Typically parents can bring a blanket/towel and picnic on the turf. The kids enjoyed the playground also. Parking can get full quickly. Overall great park, we will be returning
Safe and fun park. Playground is nice. It is very good that no dogs are allowed During summer Specifically it's a lot to play with water. Nice picnic areas, seating tables lots of shades. The only inconvenience is that there is no restrooms and garbage cans are always full.
Love this park. Small & crowded at times, but it dope.
Park is well maintained, off main roads and has plenty of shady sitting areas. This is an awesome amount of space for children to roam around. My nieces love those climbing structures and swings. There is also a water play area for beating the Chicago summer heat!
Great park for kids with activities that suited my two year old grandson but also older kids, many of whom were seven and eight. Water features where you can get wet and hula hoops. Very nice environment
This is a fantastic park. There is a field good for kicking balls or playing catch, nice swings and slides, and best of all is a hill feature that kids love. There is often street parking open across the street but it is walkable from a lot of houses.
This neighborhood park has a little bit of everything: splash pad, climbing structures, swings, turf field and shaded benches. Most of the ground surfaces are soft to limit bumps and scrapes. It can be very crowded during the day, so best to come very early or around the dinner-time lull.
Great park with so much to do for kids of all ages! Sprinklers in the summer are a big hit. Tables for groups to sit and relax in the shade plus open space to lay out a blanket.
Nice park to bring kids to. There's a splash pad, playground, lots of artificial turf with those rubber pieces so it doesn't hurt to fall. It was a busy place with lots of kids/parents when I visited, but they all seemed friendly, kind, and trustworthy. I was a little shocked at how neighborly people were, but it helps make it a great place.
