I went to this store back in the '70s over 50 years ago, to buy ginseng roots and I would break a little pieces off and suck and chewing them. Now I'm a big fan of this ginger candy in sugar cane and she had supply. Her price was way over my other five Asian grocery stores but at least she had it so I bought one bag. She was very business like and an attractive and helpful person finding this product immediately when I asked for it. There was reserve parking for two spots for her store as well in the parking lot beside the building so that's really nice and convenient and I guess what they are is a convenience store for all the multitude of apartments going up and down both sides of the street that they're located on and it's quite the long block so they've obviously been successful for 50 years or more. Fast service and found my product that I asked for right away and an attractive boss lady check me out at the cash and even accepted a credit card for about $4.19 of one bag purchased. I normally buy it at one of my other great Asian grocery stores and is far less costly but I was pleased for the convenience and that's what they are, a convenience store.. the store looks well kept even if it's a bit small for the usual Asian grocery stores that I go to. Obviously she's making a go of it and that's not easy these days. So kudos to her and thanks for having my favorite ginger candy ginger and sugar cane.
I go there to buy snacks and ocasionally I buy some cookware. They have really good korean brand stove pots for cooking stuff like hotpot and soup. Last time I went, they helped us find the perfect pot to replace the last one we bought 3 years ago.
I was amazed by the selection of products! The prices are also very reasonable. Left with 2 big bags of surprises and new discoveries. This is an instant favorite!
It's a little small, so don't expect a larger market but its quaint and cute. It does have more Korean items and some Japanese ones as well. I do wish there was a larger variety but it's a lovely place
Great Asian supermarket with amazing Korean products at very reasonable price. Very friendly staff, I recommend.
All Jang Teu stores are great, but this one is the best for us, as it stays open later in the evenings, even on weekends. It's compact but there is usually everything you need for Korean meals. The only small thing is that there are long periods with no perilla leaves, I wish they had some year round like other Canadian cities..
It is a nice East Asian grocery store, pretty much the same size as a convenience store. I usually buy Southeast Asian foods but the choice there is limited and somewhat expensive. Still, I sometimes go there for the proximity to where I live compared to other bigger Asian grocery stores such as Kim Phat where I occasionally go. Nice staff, the aisles can be tight and can be crowded but it is very accessible being on ground level.
Excellent Korean market with fantastic selections of noodles, dumplings, and even VEGAN kimchi!!! Very friendly and helpful staff and competitively priced. Highly recommended.
A really good Korean grocer, with a selection of other Asian staples namely Japanese and Chinese. The woman who is often working at the cash is super nice and always helps with my questions.
A great story, with friendly staff, and a happy variety of products at really good prices. It is all to be liked.
