Baba Thai

I went to Baba Thai for the first time last night and the whole experience was incredible!! The food was so unique and delicious! My friend and I ordered a few dishes and shared! The portions are very satisfying! We had more than enough for 4 extra meals. We ordered the pad see ew, rice ball salad, fried chicken and the BBQ chicken! Everything tasted so good! The service and staff were amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

First time dining in after doing takeout previously. Perfect summer fare, lots of exciting things to try that does not include your usual emphasis on heavy coconut curry sauces. They seem very proud of their food in the best possible way.

Good stuff. The Gra Pow was especially quite good. If you had to pick one dish, try that one. Otherwise, everything else Khao Soi, Pad Thai and Sesame Chips is not bad. The Salt & Pepper Eggplant is the only dish we found especially lackluster for its price. Overall, a decent spot.

One of the best restaurants in all of Montreal, great service and the food was even better. We had 4 ppl total and cause we waited a bit for the entrees… the owner/ MasterChef Shawn gave us free desserts. Absolutely one of the best tasting dishes I’ve tried yet. Thanks again for the great evening

Easily one of the best restos in town and certainly the place to go on Monkland Ave. The food and ambience well exceeded my expectations. Everything we had was simply delicious. The attention to detail of the staff and the enthusiam and friendliness of the owners put it over the top. I'm looking forward to going back and trying everything on their menu.

From the food all the way to their customer service on the phone and more so in person, these guys are amazing. They are very professional and they do take the time to talk to their customers. I had no expectations for this place; I simply wanted to pick up some sushi bake sushibakemtl Because I heard they were selling their goods! Seeing I had other dinner plans made already, I told them that I would try their food next time considering how good it all seemed. When I arrived home, to my surprise, at the bottom of the bag, was some fresh, hot, fried chicken! Oh my!!! And it was delicious!!!! Very crispy, and tender on the inside. And the entire family loved the taste. Their sauces are really good too. I am looking forward to coming back to try their other dishes on the menu!! So glad we live in close proximity to this place. Thank you to the team for their utmost kindness and quality food!

Glad to reconnect with Shawn Dascal, original Chef and creator of Montreal’s famous Moonshine BBQ, who brings us delicious cooking from the time he spent learning the flavours and techniques in Thailand! Thanks to pandemic was able to indulge into a sampler takeout choice of perfectly charred yet juicy Thai BBQ chicken, Fall off the bone Char Siu Pork Ribs, Tasty Dumplings, Spicy Shredded Papaya salad and let’s not to forget Lime & Chili, Chili Pineapple and Scallion & Galanga sauces that brightens up all the flavours. Can’t wait to try other items on the menu including the noodle dishes!

Ordered in on from Baba thai and their pad thai wasn't my favorite. While service was good and portions were good. I found it was too much topping. The peanuts and shallots were overpowering. Otherwise happy to help small business.I also tried the @hungrydiana dumplings! The anticipation was real to try something that's so authentic and made with love. She sells her Dumplings there but also sells them herself and started from her own recipe. They are crispy at bottom and juicy!

This was the WORST take out food/restaurant food I have ever had in my life. I cannot understand any of the other good reviews..... A friend had ordered me hungry Diana dumplings once and having seen this restaurant on social media and it being extremely close to our house, we wanted to try this restaurant sooo badly. We arrived around 8:20pm on a Saturday and the waitress/people working were very kind the star is for the staff. She informed us they didn't have any ribs left but the pork belly was available. We were so excited as I am training for a competition and can only have one cheat meal per week. We took our order from the kind staff which was pork belly, salmon and another form of salad...when we got home I was so disappointed I couldn't believe it. The pork was SO dry and tough it was VILE. CHEWING RUBBER!! The rest of the dishes had no flavour except for being spicy. I love spicy but Thailand has a million other flavours.. I have added pictures of what is shown on the website versus the pork belly we received. I will never ever come here again, biggest disappointment. If it's late and your food has passed its edible point, no problem refuse service..but do not make customers pay for this. Terrible.
