Maquis Yasolo

We accidentally walked past this restaurant while we were looking for our dinner. The entrance was small but there were 2 white boards outside showing some dishes. We had never tried African food before. So we decided to jump in. The day we dined here, they served as a set menu of 3 or 4. entrée, main dish, dessert with or without tapas For the entrée, we could choose from soup of the day or salad. Both are tasty. Our soup was vegetable cream soup. We loved it. For the main dish, we could choose 1 out of 3. Fish, beef or chicken And also we could choose our side dish from African rice Jollof or cereal Attiéké We loved the fish dish with both jollof and attiéké. Me, I preferred jollof. Here came for the dessert. I didn’t like it. It looked like yoghurt with stuffs. So far, our experience in African food was nice. The restaurant was well-decorated, beautiful and stylish. We will bring some friends next time.

Great find! The ambiance was great, with music loud enough that you have privacy talking within your table but not have to yell. The food was délicieuse and the owners were lovely! We're told that the fish dish is from the husband's homecoutry of Ivory Coast and the chicken dish is from the wife's Congo. Portion was just enough, the meal was well-balanced. On another note, if you're planning on visiting them late at night, maybe give them a call to make sure they're open. We came here the first night around 9pm and it was closed though Google said opened till 23:00. The owner said they're still figuring out the reopening after covid. Give them some love please so they can go back to serving their full pre-covid menu 'cause I'd love to try

The whole experience was absolutely perfect. The food was fantastic, full of flavour. The owner is the nicest person I have ever met. Extremely passionate about what he does and so kind. Thank you so much. You have a choice between foufou or rice and its really really really hard to chose cause they’re both amazing

I organize a dinner group with MeetUp and we explore many different cuisine other than the usual. This place was fantastic. The food was full of great flavours. Their menu changes monthly because of the uniqueness of each exquisite dish. We went for Black History month and they had Cameroun cuisine. Most of us had the grilled bass and some had the chicken, both we on spot

Incredible Congolese & West African cuisine prepared and served with love by welcoming hosts — had a smooth cream of squash soup to start, delicious veal + grilled vegetables with jollof rice and homemade hot sauce for our main, and an amazing fried beignet for dessert. I had just completed a 10 week trip through Europe and Asia right before eating here and it was still one of the top 3 meals I had in that timespan! Can't wait to come back, thank you to the owners ~

if you’re west african and looking for authentic african food, this is not the place for you. i ordered the chicken yassa and the flavours were all over the place. the chicken and sauce were poorly seasoned. the tangy yassa flavour was missing. the chicken however was very tender, but overall not worth your money.

Bland food. Microwave beeps coming from the kitchen constantly. Painfully slow service for a pre-prepared 3 course meal 2+ hours. This place was highly rated, but overall I would've given it zero stars if it was an option

Owned by a very sweet couple. Food was amazing. Had the jackfruit salad, jerk chicken and griot. All of them were excellent. Sauces served were great too. Be ready to wait a bit for the food since everything is made from scratch. Loved it!

Couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. Had planned my xmas/new years staff dinner and t’was the best experience ever. Dishes from Cameroon to Ivory Coast, made with love, Maquis Yasolo didn’t disappoint. On top of that, they made sure to add vegetarian options to accommodate my vegetarian friend. *Don’t let the negative reviews fool you, I highly had a great time with amazing food, great staff and beautiful vibes. merci énormément Solange et tout l’équipe!

Food was fresh and we'll tasteful. The customer service was very professional and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing. I will definitely return and recommend. AMAZING
