Ming's is a decent option for those looking for a quick and affordable bite. While the food is not outstanding, it gets the job done and satisfies your cravings. I recently tried their satay beef with instant noodles dish with spam, eggs and toast for breakfast and found it to be a decent choice. The satay sauce was flavorful, with a nice balance of sweet and savory notes, though I did feel that it could have been slightly spicier. The beef was tender and had a good texture, although it could have used a bit more seasoning. The instant noodles provided a good base, but again, were nothing exceptional. The milk tea was fairly decent as well. Overall, I would say that the breakfast combo is a solid choice if you're looking for a quick and satisfying meal. However, if you're searching for more elevated and memorable dining experiences, this might not be the place for you. In terms of service, the staff was friendly and accommodating, making for a pleasant dining experience. The prices are also reasonable, making this a great budget-friendly option for those in the area. A decent spot for a simple meal, but don't expect anything extraordinary."
This was the 3rd time I came back in 5 years to Ming. It will be the LAST time! No more!! It's great in the past but it is below par on food quality and customer service currently. 1 It's "very" slow on serving food. Don't go there if you need to go for other meeting afterward. 2 In addition, do NOT order Braised Beef Brisket Noodles. It is very tough and hard. The waitress said that some customers came just to ask for those hard part of brisket. What an excuse! 3 Furthermore, do not order noodle with baked meat sauce. The meat sauce is much less than that in the past. 4 For curry Fish Ball, there is no taste of curry. It disappeared. 5The cup of milk tea which came with the meals was super small. 6 They can only afford to give you a very small cup of vinegar and hot sauce for seasoning. It is too little. The vinegar also does not taste like very diluted. vinegar. In summary, it's a disappointed experience!! I felt like a waste of money and time! Their performance are way below par!!
Authentic Cantonese Snack Restaurant but with a cold reception My wife, her aunt, and I visited this restaurant in Oct 14 2022 for a mid-afternoon snack. I was eager to try out their all-day breakfast dishes from their menu offering authentic Cantonese-style fried peanut-soaked bread sandwiches and tea in sweetened milk. True to their word it was authentic, however I began to notice subtle things between my wife, her aunt and that waitress who didn’t seem to have nice manners. I may not understand Cantonese but I can tell they weren’t happy with the staff attitude and overall reception. My meal was tasty but I did notice on my sandwich what seemed to be cat hair but could not be sure. Our host used to come here often but after this incident she said she’ll not come here again and probably we wouldn't. That’s too bad
Solid cha chan tang! Breakfast is priced well and have a nice customizable combo main breakfast plus a side of protein or sandwich. Lunch menu has been expanded post covid so there is much more selection. My new favourite/ surprise was the pork cheek and salty fish with fried rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Huge portion, generous amounts of meat, tastes great and comes with soup and hot drink. For $13.45, it’s a hell of a deal. Service is not great, but food and $ are key for these types of places.
We got their Pork Chop w/ Maggie Sauce on Rice, and Fish Skin & Fish Ball Rice Noodle Soup. Pork Chop was tender, well seasoned, deep fried and tossed in Maggie Sauce, along with Onion, Scallions that soaked up all the Sauces to go with Rice, it was the PERFECT lunch! Rice Noodles came with 4 Fish Balls, 3 slices of Fish Cake, and a plate of Fish Skin, all the Fish Balls, Fish Cake had good bouncy textures, Fish Skin was crispy, but the Rice Noodles was a bit too soggy and thick… The Pork Chop Rice came with a Soup, and both meals came with a Drink! We got Soy Bean Milk, and Iced Yinyang, Soy Bean Milk was delicious, Yinyang was decent as well!
Very affordable prices and good quality food! The menu has wide range of options. Love how the meals come with soup and milk tea.
Looking for HK style cafe close in Scarborough. Ming Noodle Cafe has been around for many years and I drove by it many times and never had a chance to try it until today. We order 2 x Hainanese chicken with rice comes chinese pork bone soup and choice of coffee or HK hot milk tea. The milk tea here is fantastic and they serve it in the trademark HK style cup. Perfect amount of carnation milk with steeped black tea The chicken was seasoned well served cold but it was tender. You can dip it in hot sauce or green onion ginger sauce my favourite. We also ordered black pepper steak on rice. Also comes with soup and choice of coffee or HK hot milk tea. The steak was covered thick layer of black pepper sauce. They used the grilling steak flanks, which were marinated and tender. We also ordered preserved egg with minced pork congee which came with choice of fried dough fritters or coffee/milk tea. Overall the experience was positive and the food came out relatively fast. The restaurant was busy for 12pm lunch rush. Only critique was the table we were seated was next to the washroom and the main entrance so it was cold. If you want some HK style food that won't break the bank then give this place a try.
Price of dishes here gone up, I guess as in everywhere else. At least increase the portion size a little instead of reducing it even more. Taste of food has dropped. Rice noodle with OX doesn't taste like there is any XO. The Malaysia Curry Laksa, however was lost its flavor. Was a little surprised that they print on the receipt asking to pay tips to server. Rude!
Afternoon tea set is really good value. The French toast portion was really big and the milk tea was fantastic. Interior decor was a little dated but service was friendly. Would recommend.
Breakfast was pretty good, we all like the go milk tea, pretty authentic. we also bought their chili oil, but haven’t taste it yet so not sure is good or bad
