Our complete eye health examinations include:
- Glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataract testing on all adults and seniors
- Retinal photography to ensure the health of your eyes
- Reading/near vision testing for children
- We also offer OCT scans for even earlier detection of macular degeneration and glaucoma

We carry the latest in designer frames including Rayban, Lafont, Silhouette and Lindberg. We carry all major contact lens brands but also carry specialty contact lenses and will help fit you with bifocal, overnight or astigmatism lenses. Our on-site lab offers quick service and complete after-purchase care of your frames.

My optometrist moved away so I’d been without one for 3 years. I read about Maple Ridge Eye Care and decided to give them a try. They were so friendly and helpful from the first phone call. I got in quickly and everyone was extremely professional each step of the way. Dr. Gary Matter and his assistant explained everything clearly and didn’t push me to get glasses there. I opted to shop for frames and to say their opticians were patient would be an understatement! She even ordered in another colour for me to try which arrived the very next day. Was very much appreciated. They weren't quite the right fit for me but Vicky helped me zero in on the perfect frames with her excellent analytical skills, paying careful attention to where they sat on the bridge of my nose etc. Big shout out to the hours Vicky and the other 2 opticians put in to help me find a pair of glasses I’m actually excited about. Hands down the best optometrist’s office I’ve ever gone to. It’s like visiting friends! They also carry preservative-free eye lubricating drops for less than half the price I pay at the pharmacy. That alone makes a trip in worth it. And I love their mask policy. Optometry is an up close and personal business and unfortunately this pandemic isn’t going anywhere soon, so I appreciate their mask-up policy.
I recently decided to switch from my regular Optometrist and see Maple Ridge Eye Care for my regular Eye Exam. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the service and level of care provided by the Dr. I was given more information about my eye health than I had ever been given before, and I was so impressed by the appointment that I immediately ordered glasses from them as well. The process of choosing new glasses was excellent as well and they arrived a week earlier than I had expected. And again, picking up my glasses was another flawless experience. Highly recommend! I have been wearing glasses for 30 years, come from a family of Optometrists, and I was blown away by the excellent service and care. They will have my business from now on!
I’ve never spent so much time getting & waiting for glasses. I expected something great after such a long process- but in the end… was still not satisfied even after many follow-up visits. On the plus-side, the ophthalmologist I saw was pleasant and thorough. But it even took a long time to see him in the waiting rooms and some of the things he promised never came to fruition. Probably not his fault though, it seems like the staff offers little follow-through. The first staff member who fit me for glasses rushed me through a bunch of glasses that I didn’t like and I felt pressured to buy a brand that I don’t recognize. It was vital that I purchased new glasses as my other pair broke. After a couple weeks of waiting my glasses were ready. I instantly hated the glasses and they did not fit right. They were not a proper frame for my face at all. I went in for three adjustments in order to try to make them work, waiting 20-30 minutes to see someone each time. Ultimately the glasses rested on my cheeks, which drove me crazy, and were always loose, slipping down and off my face. MR Eye Care were kind enough to offer a refund; however I ended up seeing another staff member there for a second glasses fitting. She was extremely patient & wonderful to work with. She helped me pick a new pair of glasses. The new glasses still aren’t my perfect fit but they will do for the time being. I still have not received a response about contact lenses, even after the ophthalmologist asked someone at the front to help me with them, after me bringing it up again with someone at the front, and after emailing & calling about contacts. It seems like they may be too busy there. The busyness of the store, along with all the positive reviews makes me think that perhaps I had a fluke experience so I wouldn’t steer anyone away from trying them out. This is just my honest review; I personally love reading honest reviews when considering a business. I don’t mean any harm here. In summary, Maple Ridge Eye Care has a lot of great features, but I personally don’t like their frames, timeliness, or my overall experience.
Maple Ridge Eye Care is the best eye care service I have ever received. The staff are knowledgeable and patient. I especially appreciate the time they take with my kiddos. Unfortunately we have had a couple of emergencies and Dr Murray and the whole team was there to help. I 100% recommend this clinic.
I've been going to Maple Ridge Eye Care for over 10 years. Every visit has been pleasant, staff is polite, friendly and attentive. Dr Hurlbert has been very patient with helping me find the most comfortable contacts for my eyes. They pay great attention to detail, every time I've had a prescription change my new lenses have been adjusted accordingly to minimize the adjustment period to very little time. I recommend Maple Ridge Eye Care to anyone I know.
This year I've had a number of issues with my eyes and my eyeglasses. Maple Ridge Eye Care did an excellent job of treating a nasty infection in my right eye and steered me towards a new pair of glasses to replace a pair destroyed by a grease fire in my home. I highly recommend MR Eye Care. They are professional, kind and very efficient. I love my new glasses needed a new prescription too! Thank you Maple Ridge Eye Care.

Maple Ridge eye car was amazing for myself and my family. The entire staff is so friendly knowledgeable and efficient! All the equipment seems super high tech and cutting edge. Dr Hurlbert has a fabulous manor and very thorough! My 6 and 10 year olds really enjoyed their visit and eye care experience.
Top flight service from the staff who do the preliminaries to Dr. Gary Mater who took the time to explain what exactly the particulars of my eyes. Very professional and very thorough and well appreciated. I would highly recommend this centre and the team at Maple Ridge Eye Care.
Maple Ridge Eye Care is always a great experience, they are all so helpful and friendly the energy there is calm warm and welcoming, they are great with young ones and they have something for everyone from eye glasses , sunglasess, contacts, great pricing and even whole packages including frames and lenses for a steal of a deal. I would definitely recommend Maple Ridge Eye Care for your new eye care place or if your looking for somewhere new!
