Made the mistake of trying to set up camp here. Came up to an open spot, it had a reservation on it but I verified with the campers next door that the people at this spot were done for the weekend. I started setting up my tent while I still had some light and then I was going to talk to the ranger to make sure everything was OK. I then had the great displeasure of speaking to the park ranger. She had the disposition of a brown bear and the looks of one as well. She chastised us for having the audacity of not verifying with her first.. Although there wasn't anybody at the booth at the front of the campsite when we got there. She yelled, YOU CAN'T DO THIS. HOW DARE YOU TAKE SOMEONE'S SPOT! YOU PEOPLE.. She acted as if we were criminals. I've camped from the arches to the Uintas and I've never spoken with a less pleasant person. I admit I should've spoken with her before setting up the tent but she was do unprofessional and had the worst attitude. I do not recommend going to this campsite.

My first time camping at Magpie I had a great experiences the camp is beautiful lots of nature around you, the "bathrooms" are clean and the lady in charged is really nice. During the night you can hear the water from the river. You can see lots of butterflies, bird and some people do fish in the river, I'm not a fisher. Love this place.
