Macomb Athletic Club of Mount Clemens

This gym is filthy. Bathrooms have been under construction for years.(no exaggeration) Bathroom regularly smells like piss in the morning & a few times a year their computer doesn't work so the 24 hour access is gone for morning exercisers & the only way into the gym is to jump the fence around the side. Plus you have to search the entire gym for 5 & 10 lb plates. I've reached my breaking point. I'm done. Hopefully the new ownership fixes these issues. Good luck

When I signed up in January of 2015, they had promised all of these renovations. Did not see ANY changes throughout the whole year of my contract. Three months after my contract ended, they started charging my card again. I called and they said "it was in the contract I signed." Luckily, I had email correspondence when my contract ended. They are a bunch of scam artists there. They ended up doing the same thing to my friend that had also signed up there, tried charging her and her husband for misc things that "were in the contract," but they somehow "lost" her contract when she called them out. Will NEVER go back to that hole in the wall.

If I could give no stars, I would. My mother recently discovered that for the past 2 years, beginning in October 2015, that $26 per month was being automatically withdrawn from her bank account for Macomb Athletic Club, for a grand total of $624. From the start, the 2 managers running this gym were extremely unhelpful, and rude. Not once has anyone returned my call, rather, I have had to call myself for 3 consecutive weeks, being given no answers every time. My mother, nor anyone else in our family has EVER been a member of Macomb Athletic Club, or have ever used their services. When we called their billing company, Peak Financial, we were given a contract from a completely DIFFERENT gym, Concorde Health & Swim Club, which we were members of 8 years ago, and had cancelled the contract MANY years ago. I was underhandedly told by one of the managers, and Peak Financial that Macomb Athletic Club at some point must have acquired Concorde's clients, and reinstated their accounts, in which people like my mother were then billed without any consent, or contract. I was then told that the owner, Steve Millenbach, would look into everything, and get back to me with an answer. Upon learning of his name, I see that he is a crook, and has previously been involved with lawsuits, and has embezzled money from countless people. If you Google his name, you will see that he has owned many different gyms, subsequently changing the name of his gyms, and has a history of stealing money from people.

Good place for a workout and it's going through some changes right now. Getting new equipment, replacing the old water fountains and renovating the bathrooms. It's a long time coming and I'm looking forward to the changes.

Only thing good about this place is it will BE SHUT DOWN SOON!!!! YAY for PLANET FITNESS! I cant wait for them to open and shut down this horrible gym that takes advantage of people! ... staff there are rude... equipment breaks... they scammed me out of money and then stalked me... horrible business owners.
