Main entrance track closed, but the wood trail was open. Beautiful walk, nice a cool temperature and when the light shines through the canopy it's blissful

The natural beauty simply can't be beat, even with the trendy crowd too often in abundance. The upcoming redevelopment project will be an added bonus.

This is a great starting point for exploring Forest Park. One tip though: It's best to avoid the MacLeay trail along the creek, especially on weekends. It tends to be very crowded. If you want a good hike that doesn't have you fighting your way through hoards of people taking selfies, find you way up to Holman Lane and use that to connect to other WIldwood side trails.

A really beautiful get-a-way from the city. The historic 1905 bridge here recently underwent a complete rehabilitation and restoration which won an Oregon Heritage Excellence Award.
