The owner of this building is the worst person I ever met on Canada. I would never suggest anyone to rent this place. This place is filled with cockroaches, maggots and spiders. The laundry room is pretty disgusting. They promise to fix the washer and dryer but never did. Most of the time elevators doesn’t work at night, one time my friend got stuck inside the elevator. The only good thing about the building is the administrator, Maria is one of the sweetest person I know. She is really kind and always there to help whenever you have a problem in your apartment. But the owner doesn’t do anything instead of screaming at the tenants and being aggressive. The owner also threatened and blackmailed us for a fault that was completely on the building. Avoid all the federal buildings.
Amazing view of the city but huge cockroach problem. Maria, the building lady, did take action once I complained in the sense of exterminating my unit, but the roaches were widespread across the building, so they kept coming back after a few months. They did a whole building extermination at one point, but as mentioned, it’s really hard to get rid of cockroaches once they’re present in a building. Wasn’t just a few cockroaches too — left for one summer and when I returned, there were dozens in my unit.
Worst possible upper management. Tries to leverage international students weaknesses for benefits. Also the building is nasty. Filled with cockroaches, spiders, and maggots. Not maintained properly. The manager is probably the only good thing about this building.
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The owner is rude and inconsiderate. He blackmails students. He doesn't pay attention to the complains regarding the elevator , laundry machine and cockroaches. I would not recommend getting an apartment here to anyone.
I'll be honest, the laundry room and the elevators have a lingering sense of foreboding that make them unpleasant to dwell in for more than a minute, but one must overcome life's obstacles. I've lived here a long time and nothing is more convenient or cozy for a Concordia student. Utilities and heating included in monthly rent is one less task on your to-do list. And with the former building manager Jerry gone, there is much less palpable tension in lobby. Maria, his replacement, is warm, accommodating, and full of honest initiative. For those who have had bad experiences with landlords, I recommend this place as a welcome relief.
This building has a great location with reasonable price, I do not think you could find a similar place in nearby. Although you might have some issues for its laundry room, it is a very clean and calm tower. It also has a nice view to the heart of Downtown and Mont Royal park. I am so happy that I am living there. Also, this building has a very nice, respectful, kind and caring rental agent who is called Maria. whenever, I have a problem I just give a call to her and every thing will solved quickly. For all of the above-mentioned reasons, I renewed my lease and strongly recommend this building as a peaceful place to live.
In a word, GREAT! I think the previous reviews belong to former person in office at 2150 Mackay. Since last year that I have been living there, it has a new rental manager, Maria. She is a helpful, bilingual, caring, kind and respectful person. I can really count on her, when she says about we take care of somethings, you can take it for granted! Once the tap was broken in my apt, she just made a call and they repaired it in less than a working day. They also have a nice gentle janitor, Ricardo. They were are available when you need them. I even remember once my lamp was broken, they lend me the ladder to fix it and bring it back. All in all, this place is highly recommended. Clean, quiet, respectful!
Best value downtown! I could not find a better location, I am a student at Concordia University and the building 2150 Mackay is located across the street from the campus. My apartment is nicely renovated with quality finishes. The common areas are very clean. I dealt with Maria the rental agent, she is amazing and was very helpful through the moving process!
This is as close to perfect as it gets for a student studying in Concordia University when it comes to apartments. Being located just opposite to Concordia's Hall Building makes it a breeze to get to classes. The best part of this place is it's pricing, making it one of the cheapest place to live in Downtown. Not to top that over but to add to that, the laundry service is comparably cheaper to other apartments and you can really count on the building administrator to help you fit in, get some help and get sth fixed. She's a great person and acts professionally to matters. Kudos to her! But as it should be there are few cons to keep in mind before moving in: The walls are as thin as it gets. Infact so thin that you can hear people taking a shower living upstairs or downstairs but it's not as big a deal as I make it sound plus the laundry room can use a cleaning or two at times. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service I have gotten so far and hope it either stays the same or yet better, improves.
Great building with very reasonable prices and conveniently located. The rental agent, Maria, is very friendly, welcoming, respctful and extremely kind. She always tries her best to give the tenants the best service possible and goes the extra mile to help. I would definitely recommend living here!
