Story

A friendly environment with downtown convenience, MacEwan University Sport and Wellness offers many programs and services designed to inspire and enable individuals to achieve their health and lifestyle goals. We are located in the Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness building (10800-104 Ave.) in Edmonton, AB.

Unique, inviting and open to the public, our centre is proud to be an accredited fitness facility. Providing expertise in fitness, aquatics, athletics, recreation and lifestyle education, MacEwan Sport and Wellness offers a variety of quality programs and services to MacEwan students, athletes, staff, alumni and the community.

This place is great, a no brainer to use the facility if you're a student here. Never absurdly busy. I am very impressed that they have a dip belt available to use free of charge located in the equipment bin adjacent the stretching area. Good assortment of machines and 6 olympic platforms, including 3 with full squat racks, which is usually enough to get in pretty quickly without waiting.
Attended a refresher course given by Dive Outfitters and the pool and locker room areas were spotless The lifeguard staff was very attentive and professional No lazy Whistle twirlers here
MacEwan University’s fitness centre has kind of an odd shape to it, kind of resembling a zig zag. Aside from that, this facility offers very nice equipment and the culture here is also very positive with the student population. It can be quite busy during traditional semester months September-April in the afternoons and evenings, but aside from that offers a really great environment to train in with equipment for any training style.
Love the Gym and steam room. Had an Awesome experience with personal training. Meagan is a Great! personal trainer. Highly recomeded
Went to the pool for a private booking with a kids hockey team. Setup was really nice. Shallow pool connects into the lane pool, lots of water activities for the kids, and a nice big hot tub. Pool temp could have been a little higher but you adjust pretty quickly.
Excellent facility! Open to public for gym/pool membership. Lots of equipment, friendly staff, reasonable rates!
Well-maintained pool and steam room! The only thing keeping it from 5-stars is that there is no temperature control on the showers and the water is too hot! Lockers are large - easy to fit your bag in. Very clean facility and friendly staff.
Decent gyms. The floor should be waxed more often though.
As a full-time MacEwan international student, I was denied entry because "my program is not qualified". During my admission and Q&A, there was NO MENTION that the wellness facility is not included in our heaping tuition. $17,000/yr MacEwan website mentioned that entry is free for ALL MacEwan students taking 1 term or more. A major part of my decision to enrol in MacEwan was because of the sports activities and facilities. Being treated this way is truly disappointing. This is my second instance after I was communicated incorrect information and had to wait in the airport for 2 hours for pick up Taxi drivers knew nothing about MacEwan and insistently refused to refund my trip. I would seriously have reconsidered my decision If I knew It would've turn this way.
Gets the job done every time ! Staff are friendly , 5 stars / 2 thumbs up woot woot.
