Took Ebikes for a ride,it was a very Smokey day but in the forest trails it seen not so bad. Will come back on a better day. Once of road on dirt trail very well maintained with new bridges and signs for creeks path crosses over.
Beautiful place for a walk and the trails are really well looked after - my 86 year old mom had no problems walking there. So peaceful - definately will go back.
Amazing trails to get your mind right. Great spot to explore, breath deep, and take a break from the hectic schedule! The conservatory's many trials offer options for all types of hikers.
A favourite place to experience nature. You never know what you might find. The LSCR or Demonstration Forest is everything you could ever want. You have rivers, bike paths, gravel, views. Oh wow. Just take care. That goes for everyone. Keep an eye on your kids watch for cyclists, runners, bears, roller bladers. Keep to the right of the trail. Use your bell or yell when you pass.
LOVE the LSCR. I come here regularly in almost all weather to walk/hike. There are lots of trail options and distances and you can link to multiple other parks and trail systems. There are dog trails and non-dog trails. Fishing in the stocked lake. Wheelchair accessible path around the lake and an accessible dock. Reliable bathrooms at the Rice Lake Gate and a water bottle filling station. I currently try to go at non-peak hours b/c of the construction taking up a big chunk of the Rice Lake Gate parking area and it must be a zoo in there at peak times. Enjoy! Restrooms: Reliable access to basic but well maintained bathrooms with flush toilets, sinks, soap and hand dryers at the Rice Lake Gate. Includes one large wheel chair accessible one.
Go and be amazed. Spectacular scenery on easy to walk and navigate trails.
Trails are very well kept / maintained. Nice place to immerse with nature.
Absolutely worth the hike. This wonderful space has breathtaking views that with strap your attention away from whatever you're looking at. It's also a very poor reception zone for phones, so you can count on little interuption from pings and notifications. Bring an air horn as there are bears.
We did a 30km loop by bike and the trails are so wonderful maintained. We went in a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all. Beautiful, beautiful! We rode to the Seymour dam and the Seymour fish hatchery as well. Half the route is paved which is great for less dust this time of year.
Must visit more than once. Hiking, cycling, fishing, jogging, picnic, etc, so nice place to enjoy alone or with families and dogs. But I didn’t catch any fish when fishing in rice lake, FYI.
