Poor service. Hard to get qualified help from the floor. Home Depot is few kilometers away and much better service. Example one of many: there was a plumbing associate in his 50s had to be pursued hard to help out, not only that this guy makes me feel like he is doing me a favor by helping out and rushing to get rid of me. There are also some good workers with good knowledge in some areas such as bathroom display area but very few. Poor management from day one of this store's opening. Price is only good when they are on sale. Regular prices are much better at Home Depot. Customer Service area is another area that's quite painful. Most seasoned workers at this location have very poor and conflicting knowledge with a very poor attitude. Even though it's beside our house we try to avoid at all cost.

Went to this store for first time after my washer broke, to buy a new washing machine, about 3 weeks ago. That is where the nightmare began. I was in the appliance section for about 10 mins when I finally went looking for an 'associate'. I knew which one I was leaning towards after visiting another appliance store. I agreed to purchase a Whirlpool top loader at Lowes as they offered free delivery and installation. It was a bit of an impulse purchase so I went home and looked at reviews. Once I read how terrible the machine was I decided to buy another model. I called and the money was refunded and the store said I had to call Lowes.ca to purchase the one I wanted as it was only available online. I did so. I made it clear that the delivery had to be on the weekend as they only deliver before 5pm. I work like most people. Twice this store scheduled the delivery for a weekday. On one occasion the delivery driver called me on route while I was at work. I told him I was not home. Again I had to call the store to tell them I could not accept a weekday delivery. Once it was finally delivered and installed I asked the delivery/installer if he needed to level it as the owners manual stated. He gave it a shake and said it looked good. After he left I began to do some loads. It shook and vibrated quite a lot when in spin mode. I attempted to level it myself but had trouble with the instructions. I called the store and they told me it was not their problem and to call the delivery people. I called them and they said it was not their problem. I called Lowes.ca and I give them credit. They are Americans and know about customer service. She got a hold of a manager at Lowes and they scheduled an appointment to have someone come out and level it. A week later another guy from delivery company came and did not even have a level. I let him use mine and to his credit he took his time to level it the best he could. It still shook a lot with a small load in spin mode. He thought it was a faulty tub and left. I called Lowes.ca and spoke to the same person as before. She contacted the Burlington Lowes again wherein they decided to replace the washer. A week later the new delivery guys (XPO I believe) came to replace the washer with a new one. The guy was rude and confrontational from the get go. They installed the new washer and again did not have a level. I insisted they use mine to properly level it. They begrudgingly agreed and tried to give me a song and dance about my floor not being level. After several minutes of experimenting these idiots finally got it level but not without a lot of arguing. When they went back to the truck to get their paperwork the machines lights were flashing and I could not get it to run. I insisted they get it to work before I signed the paperwork. Again they did so begrudgingly. When I read the delivery note before signing I pointed out that it clearly stated the drivers are to install and 'level' the machine and that maybe they should have a level with them. He just gave me a dirty look and left. When I received an automated call from the Lowes store a few minutes later asking how delivery went I left a message detailing the negative experience I endured. The automated response was that I will be contacted by a manager from the store. It's been a week and still nothing. I'm not surprised. I will never return to any Lowes again and don't recommend you do either.

A lot better than the closest Home depot /Rona pleasant to shop. Nicely organized and neat. Everyone strives to help the customers whether they are in the garden area or in the appliance area.

I use self-checkout counters everywhere; they're a great time-saver -- except at Lowe's. I've never seen such a poorly designed user interface. First, you have to find a self-checkout counter that isn't stuck waiting for a store employee to unlock it from some unknown error, or a counter waiting in limbo for a customer who gave up and left long ago. Then, you have to struggle with the machine itself. Even armed with a computer engineering degree, you'll have trouble getting your purchase to ring up properly. In the time I spent struggling with the self-checkout machines (on two different occasions), I never saw any customer who was able to get through the process without assistance from an employee. Your choice is between standing in line for a conventional manned checkout, or waiting at one of the "self-checkout" counters for an employee to complete your transaction. As for the gardening section, the place was almost empty of potted plants. I found a larger selection at the supermarket across the street.

Great hardware store, typical big box but clean and staff is pretty knowledgeable. Great setup to buy online and pickup at the store and a no hassle return policy makes buying supplies for a project easy.
