Although I found exactly what I wanted, the problem at Lowe's is the lack of staff and therefore customer service. I walked around looking for someone to help, no luck. So I had to ask customer service to call someone. He was very helpful however. Then after paying (for two doors), the cashier called twice for someone to help load them in my car. No one showed up. Finally a customer who saw how long I'd been waiting loaded the doors for me. Rather frustrating. Happens a lot at Lowe's.

If I could give this location a zero I would. Staff was exceptionally rude to both myself (7 months pregnant) and my husband while simply trying to order a freezer. Managed to get it ordered but it was damaged, so they reordered and rebooked delivery 10 days later. The day before that delivery, no call to confirm delivery. So I called. They kept me waiting on the phone for 25+ minutes only to tell me freezer wasn't in stock yet. Terrible customer service.

Know what you want, and where it is before you go. The CS desk crew was a lost cause to answer a fairly simple question, the one and only time I needed them. 4 stars for quality of selection, and the department staff who are helpful once you can get your turn with them.

This evening, (first call placed at 19:50)I tried calling the Orleans Ontario store to get a price on a couple of replacement windows. While I was anticipating the possibility of not being able to get pricing this evening, I thought that after 5 attempts at reaching the appropriate department within the store, I would at least be able to speak with someone! Alas it was not to be. I called the store 5 separate times. Each time, the call was answered by an attendant, than forwarded to an inknown person or department that did not answer until the call was disconnected. The 6th time, the receptionist who was very apologetic and seemed to sincerely want to help, transferred me to a somewhat related department (blinds and wall coverings), a team member of which listened to my request for pricing on replacement windows and then hung up on me as well!! On my 7th attempt, the very helpful (and by now familiar with my voice) receptionist put me through to the lumber desk manager, who despite being taken aback at my call being directed to him, attempted to find the mill work manager to help me out. Said manager was apparently busy helping a client in flooring, but would I was promised, call me back within a few minutes. I was asked my contact info and promised a call back asap. Well, here I sit a half hour + later, with no callback (20:35). Now I realize a couple of windows will not make or break Lowes, but I think at the very least I could have been afforded the opportunity to get pricing rather than just being given no other option to taking my business elsewhere. I give up, I had hoped Lowes would be a positive shopping experience and an alternative to our traditional building supply outlets locally, given some of the reviews I've read, but now I'm thinking those were not "real reviews". I gave them 1 star because the receptionist was a trooper, she hung in there and tried her best.

Their return policy stinks and management make poor decisions! I purchased 2 gallons of deck stains at $55 each plus a stain brush in the spring. Started to stain at end of August as I had a busy summer after a couple of steps the brush fell in the gallon as it was screwed on to an extention to make my job easier. Inside the handle was a plastic piece that allowed me to screw the extension and that broke Went back to the store the customer service never asked me to trace my transaction did not want to replace it instead they offered me a discount on a new brush. I was ready to purchase another gallon of stain plus paint thinner but decided to go to Home depot. Puchased my materials there and the brush handle was one piece that allowed me to screw on the extension much better product. Talked to the paint manager at Home Depot and he told me they would have given me a new one. That is customer service. I went back to Lowes and explained to them and they finally realise they made a mistake by turning me down that first in order not to loose another customer they must replace the broken part as they can certainly go back to the manufacturer also take the product of the shelf id they are not prepared to replace another defective one. Sorry Lowes but you guys dont think on your feet for a few dollars you just lost a valuable customer. How many more has this store lost customers because of this kind of stupidity when the competition does so much better!!!!!! Marc Dionne Orleans Ontario.
