THE PLACE: Very nice quiet and clean restaurant. THE FOOD: homemade bread is the best! Their cheese empanadas are delicious, kind of tastes like ritz crackers. THE SERVICE: The owners were very friendly and they even speak Spanish. WOULD I RETURN? Yes, I would like to try other menu items.
Food was freshly made, service was good. I had the special which was bbq chicken. I asked for a side of rice and beans and she said no she didn't have any? So I settles with French fries which wasn't very authentic Chilean food at the least. And the bbq chicken wasn't bbq it was just lightly season chicken with no sauce. But it was still tasty, worth the try. I'll come back and try more of the authentic flavors they have to offer.
Service, decor, and food we're all ranging from poor to average. The prices we're very high as well for the food quality, presentation, and service.
I really wanted to like this little corner diner. Super nice people. Had the lunch "special", pan seared pork chop with mashed potato and side salad. The pork was well cooked, but under seasoned and under whelming. Mashed potatoes should have been drained more, they were watery and flavorless. Tossed salad was fresh but very cafeteria. I'd like to give them another chance and perhaps try something more authentic on their menu, the lunch special was definitely anything but...
Not much to look at from the outside. Apparently this place has been here for 21 years. VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE! We had lunch, it was fantastic . Higjly reccomend the special or any sandwich home made bread . Looking forward to coming back to try the supper menu. Message to owner ... time for a sign refresh :
Don't get the meat empanadas. I just got it for lunch today. Not only did it take 30 minutes to recieve, it was 7$ for each with it apparently being a meat empanada. More like bacon bits drowned in onions and a over cooked green old egg. The worst place to go for empanadas. if your looking to be satisfied with some authentic food. Better off going to taco bell and atleast leave feeling like you ate something and didnt throw it out two bites into the meal. Biggest Rip off
Service is a bit slow, but very Chilean. The owner does all the kitchen work himself, so orders take a while, relax, have a basket of cheese empanadas and a drink. Be patient, the food is worth the wait
This was one of the worst food establishment have been too. The place was under inviting. The person was under helpful, had to go up and ask for service, ask for water, napkins, cutterly and check. The food was not authentic or taste. Over priced and not worth the time or drive.
nelson is worst place ever I am chilean and brought friends for paellla had to even order in advance which i did, well not only was paella worst ever service horrible from nelson was giving him business and complaining about cooking and he said needed to order advance coz seafood was fresh, this was lie. over 200 with tip two paella 45 each. and only 3 tables occupied so was not even busy
Saturday Dinner 1830 hrs: Ordered the tomato and lettuce salad $13.50. Was extremely salty. My husband had the pork ribs with rice $23.50. Servings were not very generous. We were the only patrons.
