I went here with my family for a lunch. The staff was very friendly, the food was decent and came out at a reasonable time. We ordered a variety of plates to share - the burrito bowl and guacamole seemed to be the group favourite. Recommend ordering a side with the tacos.
Food was really good, two tacos for 18$ with no side... hoping they can do a happy hour and a taco Tuesday in the future. We waited about 45 minutes for food at lunch time rush so i think they have a little bit of a few kinks to work out. Cocktail menu looks great, good atmosphere, loud music for lunch time, i really like the vibe & think once the trainees are all trained it's gonna be super bumpin place! Super excited to go back and try the tapas! Our table had the half verde salad, flank steak tacos, fish tacos and the deconstructed burrito bowl!
Absolutely fantastic new Latin restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive, made the experience very welcoming. We tried several appetizers, tapas, and entrees and all items were delicious. Drink menu was unique and tasty. Overall excellent experience and will definitely be back soon!
It was our first time dining at this restaurant. The overall Vibe was pretty impressive. The places to sit were comfortable and the service was impeccable. I am Celiac and gluten-free is a must. I was unimpressed that the restaurant did not have a separate fryer and that the majority of the items on the menu did show gluten-free however they were things in them that aided to cross contamination. I can't speak highly enough of the staff as they were friendly welcoming and apologize for the items on the menu that we ordered that we thought were gluten free they caught it and suggested Corrections almost immediately. They also bought a surround of drinks to apologize for the mistake. The beef tacos unfortunately were marinated in a soy sauce that was not gluten free. It would be nice if the restaurant were able to offer the gluten-free option perhaps up charge a dollar extra for the gluten-free soy sauce and then off of the dish to those that needed them to be gluten free. Overall we all, the 5 of us really enjoyed our experience and our glasses were never empty. Thank you so much to the friendly staff that showed us the best time we could have had.
It's a cute tiny Latin restaurant in the west end. Service was alright. We ordered a few dishes to try. The first 2 were good: the artichoke dip and the provolone and mozzarella baked cheese. The rest were ok. One dish I didn't like at all was the glazed pork belly, that was over cooked, there were 6 pieces of pork and at least 3 were dry and tough to chew. My opinion this dish should be soft and the fatty of the belly should melt in my mouth. I was quite disappointed. Lastly, the basa dish was quite salty and over flavored with spice. I couldn't really taste the fish from all the heavy seasoning.
New restaurant in West Glendora worth visiting! Perfect for date night, girls night, a celebration or corporate party. Compliments to the architect for the design of this stunning space. I’m sure many will appreciate the TV’s in mirror wall enabling you to also watch the hockey game here. Came here for dinner with a group of girls on a Saturday Night of an Oilers home game. Loved the ambiance, service was 10/10 … the entire team worked very well together, were friendly and welcoming. Service was fast. Our server made great recommendations on menu items and was helpful. We shared the following family style: the Tuna Tostones, Carne Asada tacos, Ancho Hot Chicken, and Chorizo Borracho. The portions and plating format is perfect for sharing. The Ancho Lime Mojito deserves a Michelin Star will certainly return for the cocktails. EDIT 05/25/22: returned a second time, on a random Wednesday late night around 9pm for dinner and cocktails with a friend. We were greeted at the door by another friendly hostess who was quick to offer us a sampling of their feature rosé wine before swiftly taking us to our table. Once again the place was quite busy for this time of night, mid week. I opted to try a Mezcal Margarita … wow! Between the two cocktails I must say the Ancho Lime Mojito still takes the top spot, but the Mezcal Marg is a close second. I do have to comment that the cocktails are artisan and quite strong, but mixed in such a way you can’t taste the strength but can hit you rather quickly afterward so I wouldn’t recommend having more then 2 cocktails or just don’t drive. The only minor recommendation I have for the restaurant is cloth/linen napkin cutlery rolls vs paper napkins. Maybe it’s just me but eating tacos can get quite messy and a lap napkin is the sure way to not drip salsa on yourself. Thank you for a continued great experience to all the staff at El Corazon.
We ordered the warm bean dip, the Cubano, and the tuna salad. The plating was nice but only so-so on taste. The sandwich lacked a level of flavour and the side salad was bland. The ahí tuna with the salad was very nice and had a good spice and flavour. Ultimately, I was expecting a bit more complexity / flavour profile for the price of the dishes. The cocktails were very good though, and have their own twist. The service was friendly and quick once we had ordered. The decor is lovely but very very loud.
Appetizers are pretty good! The banana mojito is tasty. The beef tongue taco is kind of dry and bland even with the hot sauce. Appetizer plate is still wet when it's provided. The restaurant is very busy and loud.
Amazing new restaurant in YEG. The atmosphere was wonderful, great setting where you can easily dress up for a date night or head on in with the kids! Staff were friendly and brimming with pride for their work place. Everyone from the hostess to waitresses/waiters, to the bar tenders to management were incredibly kind, hard working and outstanding at their jobs! The drink menu is extensive and the Deja Blue, Banana Mojitos and the S.Y.C pineapple F.O.M.O sour beer were all spectacular. The wine list is also something to be in awe of and I look forward to trying new drinks with each visit ; The food was made to near perfection, plated beautifully and the textures and flavors were superb to say the least. I could rave for days about my outstanding experience at El Corazon, we will be going back for sure.
El Corazón Yeg.. where do I start, I will be honest I have mix feelings about this restaurant. Being a Latino person and visiting a Latin restaurant can be good or bad thing. Meaning, I know what flavours I am looking for and how traditionally they are. Having said that this is a modern spin to Latin food. This allows them to get away with divinations on taste and food traditions. I will be honest the food was ok, I did appreciate their creativity and work they put into it. But if you are looking for traditional tacos, chicharron, paella and guacamole. I feel there are better options in Edmonton. I actually was disappointed with my guacamole and the meals have more of a western take into them. Nevertheless, the place is located in a great location, very clean and looks great. The service was ok, the person that attended to us must of been really busy, had to get my own menus and remind them I was there. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and just say it was maybe an off day. The plátanos were good, the steak I had was ok and the feed back on the burger was great. I will try this place again in the future and give it another try. I think everyone needs to try this place, don’t let me stop you, as this is my opinion and you should have yours. Like I said, I can respect the creativity they have put into it and this might be what you want if your looking for a fusion of Latino cuisine. Have fun and keep on eating. #chicosreviews
