Lola Rosa Café

I visited this restaurant because of my friend recommendation, and I loved it! I actually don't know that I like the most. If the food or the fact that there are drawers on their tables were customers left random messages. I found cute, funny and interesting ones! Regarding the food, nachos were really good and really BIG - even though we asked for the small ones. We were 3 people, and it was still a lot. We also ordered the hempburger. It was amazing. the "fries" on the side were delicious! But they are not actually fries, I couldn't figure out what they were made of. The red sangria was really good too - we ordered because one of the notes on the drawers said it was good (:

Wow wow wow!! Overall one of the best restaurants I've been to. Decent prices, portions and service. As soon as the water bottle at our table would finish, someone would immediately fill it up again. Highly recommend their nachos (they are super tasty). One of the best nacho plate I ever had. Friends took the quesadillas and the burrito: great success as well! They offer you vegan and gluten free option for most of the meals. The place is welcoming and cozy. Would absolutely go back.

We frequented the Lola Rosa in the McGill ghetto while my daughter went to university. Amazing food. Always fresh and well thought out recipes. The atmosphere was peaceful and eclectic. The staff were smiling and laid back. We always left notes in the drawers and fun to read others messages from around the world. It became a family tradition to go to Lola Rosa we were never disappointed and we were able to have amazing food and reconnect in a relaxing Montreal atmosphere. Now I live by the William st Lola Rosa. Hoping I was going to get the same experience. Nope. Food is ok. The staff is knowledgeable but not the same brand. Tried to sit and eat but the loud rap music with very explicit lyrics and music left a bad taste in my mouth and probably will not make an effort to come to the William St location even though I live on the same block. Atmosphere for the brand is bland and notably generic to the area. Definitely make the trip to the downtown location if you are a visitor or a local.

A go-to if you're looking for cozy & vegetarian/vegan! I received fantastic food with great service. Plan ahead with reservations, and be aware it can get quite loud.

Maybe, they have well prepared and healthy food, but we didn't have a chance to try it. One star is for the bad service... When we arrived at the place (Friday evening on September 29, 2017) all tables were occupied; moreover, there was already a company of three students waiting outside. A waitress told us to join those outside and wait for ca 25-30 min until we will be offered a table. We waited for 45 min. Meanwhile, several people left, and, most probably, there were at least two free tables... But nobody waiting outside was offered to come in... The staff seemed to forget about people waiting or they simply didn't want to serve more guests... We left very disappointed. It is not the way guests should be treated.
