I spent a year here and decided to move out of the place due to the mediocre level of customer service and communication with the administrative staff. On the contrary, the staff working the yard were helpful and accommodating to requests. Regardless the type of inquiry or urgency to the administrative staff one in particular Leah who seems to be the unfortunately to be the "office lead", it seem to go in one ear and out the other. Disorganized, no follow-up whatsoever. In the past few months they began moving almost everyone's boats around the yard to create a new covered service space. I was annoyed having to spend time walking around the whole yard to locate my vessel. I witnessed the same frustration of others as well and even staff admitted the number of complaints from customers. If you plan on making changes that would impact the customer, have the courtesy to email or call your customers about the changes. Disappointing considering they're one of the most expensive places to store your boat and in return the level of service you get. I'm moving over to a different Marina. Try it out and you'll understand.
Amazing! Most of the staff are very experienced and helpful. We've had one bad experience with one of the operators who did a terrible job reloading our boat onto our trailer. Other than that I would highly recommend this marina!
Amazing place ! The best yacht service in all vancouver, All the staff is super nice people and patient specially a Mexican good looking guy, he was so kind and patient. Highly recommended
Great location and access to both sides of the Burrard inlet. This is basically the only marina with an option for out-of-water boat storage. Great variety of service providers on site.
Terrible! Rude staff. Admin is headed by a horrible lady there. Poorly managed. They don't care about your property. Much better options out there. The present general manager was bad at Mosquito Creek and even worse at Lions Gate Marina. The customer service here deserves a minus 5 stars!
After five years of using this marina, this is time to leave this place. The new owners failed to get the District of North Van to approve their application for extending and enhancing the facilities and now they are pushing the ownership costs to the patrons. The new storage model does not include an indoor option, outdoor storage costs are almost 100% higher than the year before and there is no promise of improved facilities or services. In other words, pay us double for the same services that you used the past 4-5 years and that's all because we failed to get the DNV to approve the enhancement application and also because we don't have that many options to make a better use of this lot. I call this poor business and for that reason, I'm not going to give them my business. I'm out!
My favorite marina in the lower mainland, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and the facility is extremely clean. I would recommend this marina to people who are willing to pay more in order to be near to fishing spots and have a great facility. *EDIT* July 5th, 2020 The marina is now under new management, which have doubled the prices and simultaneously ruined my boating experience. Hours were extremely limited during the winter months, with only one staff member on hand during weekends when there usually were 4-8. There is no pest control in the covered storage, with my boat coated in bird feces every time it's pulled out. The workyard and the ramp are seldom cleaned, due to the staff shortage. The new staff seem uneducated and aren't the most respectful bunch. I feel very sorry for the original boys that are working with the marina after the change in management, and strongly advise against buying services here.
OK. Location is convenient for me and the staff are friendly. Facilities are lacking in that there is no power or water available in the main storage area. If one needs this they must move their boat to a working area where it is available, hardly convenient. They will also nickle-and-dime you to death at every opportunity, $5/night to park at a facility you are already paying hundreds of dollars a month at is one example. They are an expensive parking lot with a boat ramp.
Top notch facility. Staff extremely helpful and patient. Lent us a tool that broke down and kept our maintenance on schedule.
It's a shame that such a beautiful property is managed by an equal amount of ineptitude. It shouldn't be hard to run a marina, and this was best exemplified by the 5-star reviews pertaining to the previous owners. Despite the strong foundation they inherited, Wesbild have managed to make a mockery of what was once a proud North Shore mainstay. Most companies maximize the utility of each dollar they receive from loyal customers - this is not the case with LGM! Instead, management frivolously shells out money on pricey corporate lawyers fighting to beat the government at their own game vis a vis subdivision. It makes more sense when you consider that the marina is headed by a physicist playing pretend-businessman, and an entrepreneurial? journeyman who's been passed over by the marina next door. It seems the only consistency of management lies in their ability to alienate employees, thus explaining the rather high turnover rate. Looking for good customer service? Don't count on it here. When they had indoor storage as recently as this summer, they have continually refused for years to address the problem of bird droppings on customers' boats - these were their most valuable slips! Never mind that poor organization led to the misplacement of customers' spare keys on multiple occasions. This leads to the most prevalent issue of all: their long term vision of pricing everyone out. Wesbild couldn't give a toss about your boating passion; simply put, their sole ambition is to squeeze every dollar out of the last remaining commercial waterfront property in the Port of Vancouver they have 115 million reasons to do so. A harsh indictment perhaps? Yes, and there doesn't exist a more deserving company on the North Shore. Don't take my word for it either, look at the most recent ratings - hint: most of them are one-star. Hopefully this provides a bit of an explanation of why thousands of your dollars have subsidized a mismanaged, failing marina. Don't be a fool and buy their updated "business model," take your hard-earned money somewhere it will be appreciated.
