I celebrated my birthday here at Limoncello Bistro in July and was craving more! Made reservations to come in tonight Friday Aug 26 and Allison greeted us with a warm smile and welcomed us to have a seat. I had heard great things about the Eggplant Parmesan Tower and so I ordered it with a house salad. Unbelievable presentation! Positively delicious! Still licking that homemade marinara sauce off my fingers!! Thank you for a wonderful experience and a mouthwatering meal!
My first time eating at this little gem and it was worth discovering on Localicious! I went for the dinner menu priced at 35$*. If you are interested in ordering wine or coffee or sparkling water, that is extra. You get to pick one option each from the appetizers, the mains, and the desserts sections. I decided on the mussels for my appetizer, the salmon fillet for my main, and a decadent chocolate cake for dessert. My mother who joined me opted for mussels as well, a pork stuffed with figs and other deliciousness, and a lemon cake. The mussels were served in a rich tomato sauce that wasn't acidic at all and came with warm bread for dipping. My salmon was cooked perfectly and flaked to the touch. However, my vegetables were a little too crisp for my personal taste. The potatoes were nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside and the chocolate cake was super rich in a sinfully delightful way. Don't be fooled by how small the interior of the restaurant is - there is a warm ambience to having such a cozy dining setup. I definitely recommend giving Limoncello a try if you haven't had the chance yet!
A quaint gem of a restaurant that I didn’t know existed in downtown Barrie. Seating is available inside or out on the patio. Both were desirable. Accompanying our drinks was fresh, delicious bread served with olive oil & balsamic vinegar. I had the eggplant tower which was wonderful & very filling too. If you want a non-alcoholic drink, I would recommend the pink lemonade. Our server, Victoria was patient & helpful with making menu choices. Reservations recommended and note the Sunday menu differs from other days as it only offers items made with red sauce. Would definitely visit again.
Ahhhh, we are so sorry it took us so long to discover this hidden gem right in our own backyard. The people are amazing. The restaurant, quaint and homey. But the food. Oh, the food. Best lasagna and chicken Marsala we have ever eaten. The food is spectacular, the portions are huge and really inexpensive relative to what you get. We always have more than enough for a lunch the next day. We visit every chance we get! Go. Now. Judge for yourself!
This place has good potential. The basis of the food was decent the sauces, few misses pizza dough underdone, seafood not fresh. The restaurant itself needs a deep clean and put some traps to get rid of the food flies shouldn't be present in the winter?. Lastly, the kitchen needs a stronger vent - as seating in so close to it - the smell is not always great.
Had dinner here for the first time. Very tasty food - the gnocchi and rose sauce was delicious! The pizza was also good but it'd be even better if they had stone oven pizzas. Friendly and welcoming service from Maddy. Will definitely be back!
Amazing restaurant! Been there twice and it never fails me. I can tell it’s by far o e of the top 3 restaurants in Barrie, a truly hidden gem! Fair price, huge portions and amazing service! Our server, Allison, was lovely and so was the general manager my apologies, the name escaped from my brain : lol. We will certainly be back for this delicious heart warming food <3 thank you for your service PS: the pictures don’t make justice. You need to try it! AND TRY THE CANNOLIS!
Excellent food and quaint ambience. Immediately when I opened the door the smell of garlic was wafting out! I loved it at first but eventually by the end of dinner it was starting to sting my eyes because of the lack of air extraction. Service was pretty good and the tables were a little tight between but that gave it that charm and intimacy. Healthy portions and the mussels were amazing but I wish it came with bread to soak up all that yummy sauce! Overall I would recommend this restaurant for a small party and intimate dinner. Prices are reasonable and food was delicious. I will definitely be back again.
The food quality is sub par. I was excited to go to this place based on the reviews, maybe it was an off night? For the appetizer my table had the bruschetta and the bread was wet and soggy. For the entrees our table had linguini con rapini salsiccia, slow braised lamb ragu, sachetti, and Di Francesco. First of all I really think for an Italian restaurant, they should have real parmigiano reggiano, not that Kraft store bought brand that’s what it tasted like I had to take pictures of a few dishes: Picture 1: Sachetti - large pouches of pasta filled with cheese and spinach in a Gorgonzola cream sauce Picture 2/3: Olive Oil Base, Roasted Garlic, Bocconcini, Arugula and Balsamic Glaze asked for without Prosciutto
It was our first time dinning in Limoncello as we are always ordering to go! It’s the cutest little spot with the most amazing food LITERALLY. their pizza is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. The dish representation was eye pleasing, not only that it looks good it tastes even better : 100% recommended we love it there!
