The breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately it became cold very quickly because the door doesn't close properly when people enter which happens very frequently. One of the staff said it's been like that for a few days. How about some action now!! A $20. Breakfast should be enjoyed in a warm room. Thank you.

The only reason why this place is popular is because you don't have choice between a lot of professionally run and we'll decorated places unlike in Europe. So that said let me come to the major problems of this so called "Cafe". First: you don't get seated in a cafe. You can choose the place you want to sit down on your own. The food was to salty, to greasy and for the price the plates where way to small. The staff: downright rude and arrogant which is a direct result from what I said earlier. They became arrogant because they can get away with it due to their unique position. So my advice: stay home, make your own breakfast or move to Europe to experience classes and quality.

Why not 5 stars? You’ve heard all the raving about the food, so I don’t have to add to that. (Trout Bennie yummy) You can see by the pictures of how beautiful the decor is. I’m sure they spend months arguing over what lights to hang... thumbs up. Details - you can see that they even thought of how to hang people’s coats and handbags when sitting at the window bar. (Pic below) Here is where they are missing the fifth star ⭐️ When ordering your food you line up with everyone including the takeout coffee and bread sales, but then you need another coffee while enjoying the brilliant trout Bennie you have to line up with everyone. Kinda kills the continuity of your breakfast. I’m not criticizing them for how they set it up... I’m sure if I were running the business I’d see why, however, it’s something I’d look into from the customers point of view.

Great local eatery, with a twist on seating. Located in a perfect spot in Lower Lonsdale for people watching, you are assigned seats, but still order at the counter. Odd for the first-timers out there, but it makes for efficient use of their small-ish space. Great food, and wonderful ambiance.

I really love the food at Lift, but I cannot get over the actual experience. They have obviously already outgrown their available square footage. As a result, you have to line up to order, before you can get a table...and that's IF it's available, which it often is not (because they are really popular). Until this access system is rectified, this outlet has lost my business, despite having what I consider some of the best food in the North Shore.
