Story

BjornBar Bakery is a classy bakery specializing in classic desserts bars. The bakery features 30+ flavours of bars to choose from, catering services and packaged gifting items. With the options being this endless we promise it will be an experience you will not want to miss.

At the bakery we use only the best ingredients, freshest fruit and most skilled chefs to create what we have to offer. Everything is made in house which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere and the customers can watch the product being made through glass windows into the kitchen. The aromatic smell of baking makes its way throughout the bakery from morning to night.

BjornBar’s vision and concept is home style baking with a sophisticated edge; in short “elevated nostalgic baking” The decor in this beautiful bakery is a mix of smooth dark woods, brushed metal, antique leather with a European edge, vintage lighting, classic clean edges and a slight masculine finish.

The place is lovely! I’m not often in north van so it was a random choice. I was looking for a nice place to have a coffee. I checked the rating, and pics and it was exactly the same in real. Nice decor, fireplace, and surprisingly it wasn’t busy so I easily found a table the cafe next door was super busy they had a variety of coffee and sweets, so I was confused. I just ordered cappuccino and Halloween themed sweet - meringue it didn’t like it much bcz it was hard, but it’s usually like that staff were friendly. I found a free parking somewhere nearby, you just need to drive around as it’s busy.
Used to love this place, was looking forward to a similar experience but our quiches didn’t feel fresh this visit & service was absolutely impersonal. The Bjorn bar was still stellar, but the other two bars we ordered were dry & felt stale. Nice to see it still busy, hopefully was just an off day
Yesterday I walked through Edgemont Village at night to look at all the beautiful lights and stopped in at a few of my favourite small businesses. I started at Kokomo and ended up at the other end of Edgemont Boulevard at Bjorn Bar.nnThe pastries here are incredible and the atmosphere at Bjorn bar is perfect. It’s warm and inviting and they have a nice electric fireplace with seating around it. They did a really amazing job of decorating for the holidays. It looks like it’s out of a Hallmark Christmas movie.nnThe young girl working recommended their mince meat tarts. It was delicious and a great choice for the holidays. I also really love their quesadillas, roast beef dip and their cherry turnovers. Bjorn Bar also has an incredible assortment of gourmet dessert bars.nnBjorn bar is well worth a visit if you’re in Edgemont Village in North Vancouver.
If I could, I would give 3.5. We came here for the first time a few weeks ago and had a2 of their bars that were good and a “pumpkin knot” that was so delicious we drove 35 minutes back here today. Sadly they didn’t have any knots, which was no biggie, so we chose a pistachio croissant, artichoke tart, and raspberry “bomb” as well as two medium coffees.nnUnfortunately we didn’t really enjoy any of the food. The raspberry “bomb” was just an empty cavity with the smallest smear of raspberry jam that I could barely taste - there was such little filling that I actually went up and asked the staff if there was supposed to be more because it’s called a “bomb” and they politely explained that was normal. The artichoke tart was quite over cooked, quite greasy, and was very skimpy on the toppings and just felt like a light sprinkle of cheese with 2 small pieces of artichoke on puff pasty - didn’t feel like a “tart” really. The croissant was soooooo greasy and heavy; it tasted like it had marzipan inside maybe pistachio marzipan? which wasn’t in the description. Lastly, we wanted to dine in, so we got our coffees in mugs - the mugs were so small, there is no chance those are equivalent to a medium to-go cup so this really felt like a waste of money.nnThe servers were all friendly and helpful, and the vibe is super cute. Since our first time there was so good, we might be willing to try again if we’re in the area - but would be more thoughtful about what we order and also would order drinks in to-go cups.
Such a gem. Love the decor as it feels more like a home than a coffee shop inside with the couches and decor. The coffee was excellent and strong. Pastries looked delicious but did not try any. Prices are slightly expensive and there is limited seating. Smaller than the Delanys or the Starbucks in the village.
