I wish this place was actually quiet because this library is very accessible to me. However I just know, on weekends especially, there are tons of kids making noise and people talking in the 'quiet' zone which makes it hard to study. In fact, the floor is open and the 'quiet' area is next to the children's area. Some people say that i could just go to another place, but its quite annoying as a busy student to have to spend a lot of time taking multiple buses and/or the metro to and from another library, just for a possibility to study with no distractions.
This library is right next to a school; so better to time trips not during the time the school ends school bus, parents coming to pickup; parking stays full around the school pickup/drop times. Very nicely organized sections for kids and a good selection of English Mangas. Board games are best reserved in advance. Out of the multiple Laval libraries, I would rate Yves Thériault and Multiculturelle to be slightly better than this but the standard Laval biblio features like reserving books, picking a wide variety of books for all ages and comfortable access to video games and board games is absolutely super. This library also has a quiet room that you can meet people, students go in for combine study etc.
The silence rule isn’t enforced here at all whatsoever. I’ve been to bars that are quieter.nnCellphone noises, conversations, loud shhhhhhs, and even people straight up taking phone calls. The employees do nothing. Avoid at all costs.nnÉmile Nelligan looks down on this library in disappointment.
Good library. Not enough choices though
The library is the number one benefit of being a citizen. I enjoy this library It’s usually not crowded and it’s not far from where I live. Nice people
