Very disappointed in the receptionist. She wasn't welcoming. Very demeaning, unpleasant and unprofessional. Rudely ask to wear a mask. She said the sign was on the door and it clearly wasn't I ASKED WERE CAN I GET ONE AND SHE REPLIED RUDELY..SOMEWHERE OVER THERE. ... I did complied and upon my returnn while waiting to talk her. I decided to use the facilities and she question why I was using bathroom That was so inappropriate and violation of a human right. They advise ill get a virtual appointment by phone between 11am and 1p. It's 1;30pm and I'm still waiting
Receptionist's rigid application of centre policy resulted in negative health outcomes for my one-year old premature son. He was coughing a lot and having a hard time breathing, so we tried to access the centre's walk-in services. Per the centre's policy, we had a phone consult with a doctor who was very kind, knowledgeable and helpful - the consult took place in the evening after in-person assessments were no longer available. She advised that should his symptoms worsen overnight, we should take him to ER. But if he seemed to be improving, the doctor recommended that we get him seen in person the next day and that she would make a note to prioritize urgent in-person care for our son for the doctor on shift. The next day, as soon as the centre opened at 9am, I left a voicemail requesting an in-person assessment. Receptionist called back to say that the centre's policy is that in-person care is only provided after a phone consult and only on the orders of the doctor on shift. So the receptionist kept saying that she could only book ANOTHER phone consult in the afternoon. Apparently, the doctor we had the phone consult had only specified in her notes to prioritize "urgent walk-in care" for the next day, but didn't explicitly write "IN-PERSON walk-in care." While I understand the rationale underlying the centre's policy, this seemed to be a nonsensical application - it should have been clear to the receptionist that the doctor meant in her notes to prioritize urgent in-person care. All of this resulted in my son not being able to be seen by a clinic in the community and our family having to stressfully go to the ER and wait hours, only to be hinted at by ER staff that this could have really been assessed by a doctor in the community costing unnecessary resources to Ontario's already stretched ER system. I've never felt compelled to write a review, but this receptionist didn't approach the situation with any sensible context or compassion, and the centre should really train and hire better staff. To be clear, the quality of the doctor delivering care was excellent - this one-star review is about my son not being able to access timely and continuity of care - because of the receptionist.
My experience at this medical clinic was positive. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly and guided me in the right direction with making a phone appointment because they weren’t accepting walk-ins without a phone call first. I was super impressed with Dr. Kassim who listened to my symptoms, and was clear and quick on the next steps to be taken. Her “bedside manner” was terrific. My results also came in quickly and were relayed to me in a clear and understandable way. I’d highly recommend this medical clinic.
Our experience with this clinic has been great. Both the admin staff and doctors are excellent - professional and courteous. My parents are both in their 70s and don't speak English very well, the staff and doctors are  friendly, accommodating and caring. We are grateful to have found this clinic. We had experience with other poorly managed medical clinics with unprofessional staff/doctors but this clinic is nothing like that. This is a well managed clinic. Thank you for your hard work.
I’m not sure this place even deserves a star. They have signs indicating the mask mandate and that you must wear one. Fine. No problem. However, when I asked for a mask they told me they have none to offer!! . Well, let me get this straight, you want your clients to wear masks, however you don’t even have any available. Their was one lady in the waiting room who had extra and gave my husband and I each one thankfully. Not only that, waiting in the waiting room is fine. However, when taken back to the examination room I don’t expect it to take 45 minutes for the doctor to come in. I don’t recommend this walk-in to anyone. Reading through the positive reviews, I feel like those must be from friends and family.
I truly have never come across a better doctor than Dr. Cassam. I feel when you run a walk-in clinic you will receive negative criticism unfairly because there will always be a patient unhappy with something you can’t please everyone. All you need to know is Dr. Cassam always has your best interest at heart. She is the kindest, most knowledgeable, welcoming and accommodating doctor I have ever met. I actually really love the way she’s been running the clinic post Covid. You call in the mornings to schedule a phone appointment that day first, then if you need to come in they can schedule that for you. No lining up around other sick people, how great is that?! Also, I have only ever dealt with extremely friendly and kind receptionists here!
Amazing walk-in clinic. Very clean and friendly! I have never had an issue with getting an appointment when I can't get in with my doctor. The Doctors are very educated and explain everything to you. Highly recommended!
Edit to owner's response: You missed the fact that your staff refused to provide a bandaid, not that I was upset with her directions to the pharmacy. This is not entitled behaviour; as a tax payer I expect services from a government run program. This is our society's structure. I did not refuse to wear a mask, this was brought up at the end of our interaction. I also requested her name multiple times, which she refused to provide, thereby using the identifiers available to me. I'm not surprised you had no doctors available to work today; it's likely that physicians have too much respect for themselves to work in your clinic. Front desk staff Asian lady dressed in all black is extremely rude. I asked to see a nurse or get some bandaging material as I fell off my bike right outside the store Street car tracks and she would not even let me finish my sentence let alone provide me with a bandage from her first aid kit... At a medical clinic. She argued with me that I should buy a pack from the pharmacy. Shame on you and shame on this clinic for not doing more to train their staff to be kind to other humans.
Amazing experience! From the first phone call speaking and organizing with reception to within and hour speaking to Dr. Humaira Cassam who was so helpful knowledgeable and reassuring. Would recommend them to everyone I know. So thankful that I called them. I felt helped and cared for from the first minute. Thank you so much to your clinical team
I love my GP, but I had an urgent issue and they were unable to find a spot for my children. That’s when I discovered the Leslieville Medical Centre, which got me into a virtual consult with a good, local doctor and prescribed the medicine my kids needed within an hour.
